I just love my new donut pan and these Baked Vanilla Sour Cream Donuts are ready in no time they're so easy to make!


If you haven't tried baked donuts, they are so easy, light, and actually fun even if you hate baking!


Today I made two different flavored donuts so you have two recipes to love.


The first simple donut is baked with a vanilla spice with a fall flavor hint of cinnamon and a little nutmeg in the batter.


Our other featured donut is baked with sour cream and vanilla.


Both are delicious dipped in a melted white chocolate glaze on top.


Both recipes are very basic flavors easy to make and so versatile.


You can decorate these baked donuts any way you like.


You could even tint the frosting and make them festive for any event or to your party theme with matching sprinkles.

Easy Baked Donuts




These recipes are both super easy but using a donut pan is a must-have.


Do read through our tips, suggestions, and ingredients before you get started to make sure your baking journey is flawless.


Baking donuts is so much easier than standing over a hot stove frying them and so much healthier do without all that oil saturation.


They don't even take long to whip up and at the most 10 to 12 minutes to bake!


My baked-style donuts are perfect for parties, picnics, snacking, and a great dessert any time of the year!

Suggestions

  • coordinated sprinkles to a party theme
  • tint the frosting or the batter
  • freeze them unfrosted for a quick dessert for unexpected company
  • great for a picnic just rolled in sugar






Quick Donut Tips


  • Do not overmix the batters on either one, just fold in the dry ingredients
  • Always preheat the over
  • Put the wet ingredients and dry in separate bowls
  • Use a ziplock bag filled with batter to fill your donut hole trays
  • The pans are a must to make baked donuts
  • This batter can be fried in a deep frying pan and using an ice cream scoop to release the batter into the oil
  • Do Not Overbake these!
  • Either donut can have tinted frostings or extracts added to the glazes for a change
  • Both donuts freeze well
  • You can also use these donuts for fruit and whipped cream dessert and leave them plain

Baked Vanilla Donuts

Here are two of my favorite recipes for baked vanilla donuts. One is a baked vanilla donut with a hint of spice and the other made with sour cream and also baked.. Both are delicious and with a ganache on top and sprinkles.

ingredients:

  • Vanilla Spice Donuts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon rice vinegar or you can use white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 ounces white chocolate
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 4-5 tablespoons water
  • Colored Sprinkles
  • Cooking Oil Spray
  • Sour Cream Baked Donuts:
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • Cooking oil spray

How to cook Baked Vanilla Donuts

  1.  Baked Vanilla Spice Donuts Instructions:
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-proof large bowl. 
  3. Add the vinegar, milk, vanilla, and stir, This will thicken as it makes sour milk. 
  4. Whisk in egg. Then just fold in all the dry ingredients till well blended. 
  5. Lightly spray donut pans.
  6. Taking a sturdy ziplock bag fill it with the batter, snip a little piece of the end off and pipe the donut batter into the pans to fill about 2/3 full each. 
  7. Bake for 8 minutes or until the tops springs back when lightly touched. 
  8. Cool on parchment paper.
  9. For The Glaze: In a microwave-safe bowl, add white chocolate and butter till melted. Mix in sugar and water, stir mixing till blended. Dip donuts in ganache and sprinkle with either colored sprinkles or cinnamon and sugar. Makes 12.
  10.  Sour Cream Baked  Donuts Instructions:
  11. Place all the wet ingredients in the bowl. Fold in the dry ingredients, gently combining.
  12. Use the ziplock bag method to pipe into the oil sprayed donut pans.
  13. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 t o10 minutes.
  14. Cool and dip in the same frosting for the Vanilla Cinnamon Donut Recipes and use whatever sprinkles you like.

  11. Your donut glaze sounds wonderful. I use to demo these and yes they are fun and make perfect donuts. However, I've never tried them with a wine glaze. Wow these are adult donuts.
