These are bite-size batter dipped and fried Mahi Mahi. A delicious Florida appetizer we make often. Great anytime for snacks or just the perfect dinner appetizer.

This fried Mahi Mahi has a crispy golden beer coating on the outside while keeping the fish moist, tender, and flaky on the inside.

The fish is terrific with one of our 14 dipping sauces you can choose from or just use our delicious marinara sauce and mozzarella Parmesan topping suggestions the way we like it.

Easy fried fish that will taste like a five-star restaurant, and with some store-bought ingredients these delicious appetizer bites are ready in less than 20 minutes.

This versatile beer batter is also perfect for many other types of meat and vegetables to include fish, chicken, or even vegetables, anything you dip with this is a delicious fritter-style batter.

Ingredients for Beer Batter

  • all-purpose flour
  • garlic powder parsley, oregano, basil paprika salt black pepper cayenne pepper
  • egg
  • bottle of beer
  • cooking oil for frying
  • jar of favorite marinara sauce
  • shredded whole milk mozzarella
  • grated parmesan
  • firm white fish such as Mahi Mahi, Snapper, or other preferred white fish cut into small chunks

Mahi Mahi Parmesan Appetizer Bites Recipe

These are little bites of fish fried in beer batter and then covered in tomato sauce and melted cheese as an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • Beer Batter
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of each, parsley, oregano, basil
  • 2 tablespoons of paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 12-ounce can or bottle of beer
  • 2 quarts of cooking oil for frying: heat to around 375
  • 1 jar of favorite marinara sauce or make homemade marinara click here
  • 1 package shredded whole milk mozzarella
  • grated parmesan
  • 2 pounds of firm white fish such as Mahi Mahi, Snapper, or other preferred white fish cut into small chunks

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry ingredients, (except fish) add egg then beer beat till smooth.
  2. Dip fish chunks in batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown.
  3. Drain on paper towels.
  4. On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place fried chunks of Mahi on the sheet,
  5. Top with marinara sauce and cheese and bake until the cheese melt.
  6. Serve with picks for appetizers inserted in the center.

    I wonder if you used a bland American lager or a malty microbrew.
    It's impossible for me to fry fish without the obligatory hush puppies. Everyone demands it.
