Grilled Lemon Peppered Ribeyes

These Grilled Lemon Peppered Ribeyes are full of lemon flavor with garlic zest and so juicy and tender in every bite.

Marinating the steak first then grilling then basting with melted butter makes this one of the best recipes for Lemon Peppered Ribeyes grilled on the planet just bursting with flavor.

We also love other stovetop steaks from the 50s mom-made (she always had loads of flavor in whatever she cooked for us), Italian Sauce Steak, Steak Marsala, and Salisbury Steak all favorites as a kid and now.

Ribeyes and Other Kinds of Steak Choices

  1. Ribeye Steak also may be also known as Delmonico contains the most fat marbled in them for tenderness, and  are very flavorful
  2. New York Strip Steak is a cut of meat that has a firm and tender texture with a bold flavor. This cut comes from the short loin part of the cow
  3. Filet Tenderloin Steak is a boneless round less fat and very tender steak
  4. Porterhouse and T-bone Steak has a strip steak on one side and a larger tenderloin filet on the other and usually bigger than the T-bone
  5. Hanger Steak is similar in taste to its cousin's skirt steak and flank steak, with slightly more marbling
  6. Skirt Steak and Flank Steak are very good for marinating and then used in tacos and fajitas Round steak a tougher steak great for stuffing and slow cooking, as it's, has very little fat

Shopping List for Grilled Lemon Peppered Ribeyes

  • bone-in or boneless rib-eye steaks (or use another cut of meat you prefer)
  • lemon juice and zest
  • olive oil
  • melted butter
  • sugar
  • dry mustard
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • freshly cracked black pepper
  • fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • kosher salt
  • smashed garlic

Tips:


  • Meat can be marinated the day but for at least 3 hours before cooking
  • Sear each side on high heat first to seal in the juices for at least 2 minutes on each side do not overcook
  • Use tongs to flip the meat
  • Refer to the meat temperature chart using an instant-read thermometer for the desired doneness
  • Let meat rest for 3 minutes before serving

This dish is great served with Chantilly Potatoes and Garlic Roasted or Air Fried Asparagus.


Add more or less lemon to taste after this is cooked you can grate more zest on top for a  deeper flavor of lemon.

Ribeyes marinated then grilled to perfection bursting with a lemon pepper flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 - Ribeye Steaks or use whatever  cut of meat you prefer
  • 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
  • 2 cloves smashed garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • kosher salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
  • a pinch of granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Marinade: place all the ingredients except for the butter in a covered plastic container or a large ziplock bag that will fit two steaks.
  2. Marinate the steaks for 3 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat a grill to medium-high.
  4. Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Drain off the marinade leaving whatever spices are left.
  6. Brush the steaks with butter on both sides.
  7. Cook on medium-high for 2 minutes then flip them.
  8. Grill for another minute or depending on how you prefer your steak cooked and its thickness.
  9. Use an instant-read thermometer for the desired doneness and refer to our chart on the website
