Pizza Bread Bowl Recipe

Wednesday, June 1, 2016
Here is a meat lovers bread bowl. Filled with sausage, pepperoni, and cheese it's perfect for any party or appetizer! Easy to make with just a few store-bought ingredients.

1 loaf bread store-bought or homemade or use bread dough and bake in a 9 inch round pan

Filling:

1  cup pepperoni chopped
1 cup loose sausage or more
3 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
2 1/2 cups shredded Italian blended cheese Mozzarella and Provolone
4 tablespoon olive oil or butter

Optional: 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
salt, pepper to taste

Granulated garlic
Oil spray
Grating cheese

Cut out a large circle in the center of the round bread loaf with a sharp knife and scoop it out of the center. Cut the scooped out bread into small cubes for dipping later. Place all on an oil sprayed cookie sheet.

In a medium-sized fry pan add the oil,  pepperoni, sausage, and cook till browned.

Stir in the garlic, sauce, and 1 1/2 cups cheese and if you are using red pepper flakes, salt, or pepper.

Pour into your bread bowl. Sprinkle the top with the rest of the cheese.

Sprinkle the cubes cut up with oil spray, granulated garlic, and grated cheese.

Bake all on the cookie sheet at 400 degrees hot oven for around 25 minutes checking the bread cubes as they brown and take them out first.

I like to broil the top on low to get the cheese crisper if it has browned.

Serve the bread cubes on a platter with the bread bowl for dipping.
