Nutella Baked Banana Handpie Recipe

Saturday, July 14, 2012
I love these little handpies. They are so delicious with coffee flavored ice cream!

1 cup Nutella hazelnut spread
1 banana cut into chunks
1 batch homemade pie crust, tart dough or handpie dough of store bought that equals 2-9 inch pastry crusts
sugar for the tops
1 egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon water to brush the tops with
1 egg white beaten with 1 tablespoon water to seal with

In a small bowl mix banana and Nutella together until combined
Roll dough out 1/4 inch thick. I use a ravioli dough cutter (round one) with fluted edges. Place a a heaping teaspoon in the center. Place egg white wash all around the inside edge then fold over to seal. Place each one on parchment lined cookies sheet and crimp with a fork. Brush with egg yolk was and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degree oven until golden brown, around 30 minutes.

Dear Claudia, These little pies sound delish! Nutella does not last long here. It has a habit of calling. I am sure these would go great with coffee ice cream or a good cup of coffee.
Thank you for your kind all of your kind comments.
Blessings dearest. Catherine xo

Oh wow what a perfect combination. I'd love to take a bite of these. I actually just purchased a book on hand pies because they sounded so good. In fact there's a place here that strictly serves them. They seem to be all the rage now.

OMG-now, you've really given me a great idea. Last week I made an apple turnover (no big deal) with the puff pastry...nothing compared to your amazing Nutella-banana filled pastry...Yumm! Genius!

I was just about to say I think I'm the only person who hasn't tried Nutella, then I saw Carla's post ahead of mine. I'm seeing it so often though, that I'm getting curious.

I love your Italian Flag background, btw. :)
