Ice Cream Cone Easter Basket Cupcakes

Monday, March 6, 2017
When I think of Easter I think of baking, cooking, festive treats, and of course Easter Baskets.

I love seeing the kid's and adult's faces when they see food art like these little adorable and yummy cupcakes!

These are fun projects for the kids and will put a smile on anyone's face that's eating them.

They are pretty easy to make, just a little time-consuming.

These cupcake cone cupcakes are just a joy to make and so delicious too!

Once you make them a few times, it gets easier and no two look alike, these are perfect for individual personalized sharing!

Enjoy this fun Easter project with your family and get creative, use any kind of edible decorations you like.

Buona Pasqua! Which is (Happy Easter in Italian) from our family to yours.

The Kids Love Making These!

Are these stinking cute or what? I just love them!

I am always looking for new projects for the kids to do.

All the kids love to come here and make them with me. It's not only a fun project it makes the best memories.

Fun Project for School or Home

I actually can't wait until my grandchildren are old enough to make them with me.

If you can start saving those cup holders from various gas stations that hold a set of four cups they are the perfect carriers for these if they have to travel anywhere.

I wanted to pass that tip on to my readers.

So Festive!

These are so much fun to decorate.

Find colorful Easter candy.

There are so many cute candy pieces during Easter at all retail stores.

Get Creative!

Get some colorful licorice for the basket handles, and pastels Easter eggs.

You can even use wrapped candy eggs, however, I don't recommend it for little children eating them as they may not know enough to take the paper off.

You can also decorate the tops with fancy frosting flowers if you have cake-decorating skills.

I just use chocolate frosting.

Enjoy making these!

I actually was so happy with the outcome and make some awesome memories!

How To Make Ice Cream Cone Easter Baskets

prep time: 35 mins cook time: 20 mins total time: 55 mins
These are the cutest little Easter Baskets made out of Ice Cream Cones. You can eat every bit of them or use them for a festive centerpiece for Easter.

ingredients:

  • Cupcake tins
  • Sugar Cones
  • Cupcake Liners can be used after they are backed for presentation
  • Cake mix batter any flavor made to package instructions
  • Licorice I used red and cut it in half and down the center for the handles
  • Tin foil
  • Oil spray
  • Frosting any color you like
  • Jelly beans in assorted colors
  • Coconut tinted green place 1/2 cup coconut in a dish add 1/4 cup water and 4 drops green food color let sit then drain and pat dry set aside

instructions:

  1. Very carefully remove the cones from the package.
  2. Place on a cutting board using a serrated-edged knife sawing back and forth cutting around 3 inches off.
  3. I did break a few. Holding by the seam helps.
  4. Then wrap each bottom with foil. Place in cupcake tins and spray inside the foil bottom with oil spray.
  5. Add around 2 teaspoons of batter to each of the cones.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees until they are baked around 15 to 20 minutes watching them as they cook fast.
  7. Cool completely. Remove foil.
  8. Frost each one.
  9. Add coconut, and jelly beans and place the licorice handle into the cake edges.
  10. If you decide to use the wrappers I place a tiny bit of frosting on the bottom to hold the basket in place
