Too-browned, bubbled-over mess. In the U.S., and only a couple thousand feet elevation; the only adjustment I usually need to make to recipes is to use the longest end of the bake time range (which isn't a huge difference). Since they didn't rise to speak of, also wondering if it should call for "baking powder" instead of "baking soda"--I'm not seeing anything sufficiently acidic in the recipe to react with baking soda to leave, might need baking powder instead to self-leaven.Tamaranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3067778895617200586.post-25356106664959297392021-06-20T08:16:47.461-04:002021-06-20T08:16:47.461-04:00Also there is no baking powder in this recipe and ...Also there is no baking powder in this recipe and the recipe is also posted here and these muffins are newer photos https://www.whatscookinitalianstylecuisine.com/2017/07/best-bing-cherry-muffin-recipe.htmlWhats Cookin Italian Style Cuisinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15203502864311900991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3067778895617200586.post-63501452173299733462021-06-20T08:03:04.824-04:002021-06-20T08:03:04.824-04:00I am truly sorry that recipe didn't work out t...I am truly sorry that recipe didn't work out twice, makes no sense I made them this week with bing cherries, and if you look on pinterest there are several photos of this recipe tried and although they all look different in color no one said this. The sugar is correct, it's also the same recipe I use with any other fruit other than cherries. Can you tell me if your in the US, oven, altitude issues, this is a puzzle for me, again I apologize. Both times they just ended up a bubbled over, burnt sugar mess in my muffin tin after 15 minutes in the oven (the second time was because I was convinced I’d made a mistake). I see comments referencing baking powder, but only baking soda is included in the recipe. Not sure if this is part of the problem or not. I’m also starting to question 2 cups of sugar plus 1 1/2 cups of cherries. That much sugar seems like it could have contributed to the issue for sure. In any case, I soooo wish these would have worked.
