Baked Italian Chicken Wings

Baked Italian Chicken Wings

Healthier and a delicious alternative to fried! Most of the time we enjoy ours this way, I marinade them, then use one of our many styles of dipping sauces! These go great with these wings... take a look at the many sauces to choose from Click HERE

Marinade:
2 1/2 pounds chicken wings (if using frozen thaw ice remove and dry off with paper towels)
In a large bowl add:
3 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cloves of minced garlic
pinch of black pepper and cayenne pepper
Toss wings to coat, cover with plastic wrap for at least three hours or overnight.
Place in a 400 degree hot oven on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper bake turning often till crispy.

After wings are  completely cooked and crispy looking,  immediately brush with sauce below:

2 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Drizzle or brush sauce over hot crispy wings and serve...

  1. Mmmm, I've baked wings before, and it really is so much easier (and healthier) than deep-frying. I love the sauce you brush on, parmesan and garlic... sounds like a great combo!

  7. What a great guest post from your son, with all the yummy sauces!
The baked chicken wings are my favorite. They are so crisp, yet tender, and delicious!

I make my chicken wings the way you do, and just love to make the Buffalo hot sauce to pour over, and have extra for dipping.
I'm not very adventurous with all the other sauces, except the Teriyaki sauce, which is oh, so good on other meats, and veggies!

Claudia, your photos are really looking beautiful!

  8. I'll be doing this one of these Sundays - such a fun treat for a frigid afternoon. Oh I love garlic, cheese and herbs on a chicken wing!

  9. I've always had difficulty getting the wings to turn out crispy. I've never turned them more than once (half-way) before, tho. I'm guessing it's more oven time (since you're constantly releasing heat opening the oven), but you're clearly getting the desired results. They look perfect in the photos!

    Thanks for sharing your method!

  18. Oh Claudia!!! These look so awesome-crispy and golden! Chicken wings are a serious weakness of mine. They can knock me off my diet with just one whiff or glance. Yours look wonderful, so I'm going to send the link to my Mom. She loves them too...
p.s. Sorry for being away for so long. I went to Key West-it's so wonderful there. Have you been? It makes my part of Florida look like, well, I won't say (smile)!
