Cooking Methods For Making Chicken Wings

  • Baked: bake at 400 degrees on oil sprayed baking sheet until golden brown turning once
  • Air Fried: set the air frier to 425 degrees for 25 minutes using an oil-sprayed basket
  • Broiled: set the broiler on medium-high heat, and place it on an oil-sprayed broiler pan for 40 minutes turning often
  • Grilled: Heat the grill on medium heat, oil spray the grates first before heating then add wings and grill until charred around 25 minutes turning once
  • Pan-Fried: using a deep chicken fryer heat 2 inches of oil and fry the wings until browned on both sides and crispy
  • Slow Cooker: brown wings on the stovetop first then add to the slow cooker adding 1/2 cup beer to the sauce of choice, and set on high for 6 hours.
  • Smoked: Heat the smoker to 275 using pecan or applewood chips, and place the wings in a foil pan. Smoke them for 3 hours at 275 degrees,
  • Deep-Fried: Heat the deep fryer to 425 degrees, spray the basket with oil cooking spray and deep fry do not crowd wings this takes around 15 minutes per batch.

Note: We love them smoked, grilled or baked, or air fried, you can deep fry if you prefer your wings that way.

Chicken Wing Dipping Sauce 18 kinds of Recipes

This is a great assortment of dipping sauces for all the chicken and chicken wing needs. These tasty sauces are great for just about any meats you're cooking and all easy to prepare,

Ingredients

  • Homemade Old Fashioned Ketchup recipe Ingredients:
  • 48 peeled ripe tomatoes (around 8 pounds)
  • 2 green peppers chopped
  • 2 red peppers chopped
  • 4 white onions chopped
  • 3 cups of granulated sugar
  • 3 cups of white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons salt
  • 1 -- 1/2 teaspoons each of ground clove, ground allspice, and ground cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons ground mustard

Instructions

  1. Homemade Old Fashioned Ketchup Instructions:
  2. Boil the tomatoes, onions, and pepper until tender, around 35 minutes.
  3. Run these through a food mill or strainer.
  4. Continue boiling the strained mixture and add the rest of the ingredients until thick.
  5. This takes approximately 35 minutes or more.
  6. Note: You may have to press this through a sieve one more time to get it smooth.
  7. Ladle into mason jars.
  8. Ketchup will keep 3 weeks in the fridge or 6 months in the freezer.
  9. Apricot Sauce Dip :
  10. In a medium bowl, stir together
  11. one 12-ounce jar of apricot preserves (1 cup),
  12. 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar,
  13. 1 tablespoon soy sauce,
  14. and 1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel. Makes about 1 1/4 cups. (Great on grilled Salmon too!) If you like a pina colada dip, click here.
  15. Honey Mustard Sauce Dip:
  16. In a medium bowl, stir together
  17. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard,
  18. 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  19. 2 tablespoons of honey,
  20. 2 tablespoons Yellow mustard
  21. a splash (like 1/2 teaspoon) lemon juice
  22. Buffalo Wing Sauce Dip:
  23. 2 oz cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  24. 4 oz bottle of blue cheese dressing
  25. 1/4 cup of bottle Frank’s hot sauce (or your favorite buffalo wing or hot sauce)
  26. 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  27. Microwave for around 1 minute for the cheese to melt. Add more blue cheese if too thick and hot sauce.
  28. Classic Traditional Hot Sauce For Buffalo Wings:
  29. 1 bottle hot sauce (Franks or another brand) 12 oz
  30. 1 stick of butter melted
  31. pinch of garlic powder, and cayenne for more heat as needed)
  32. 2 teaspoons honey
  33. Mix the hot sauce melted butter, spices, and honey in a bowl. Pour over hot-cooked wings
  34. Chili Lime Dipping Sauce:
  35. 2 tablespoons of jalapeno pepper chopped finely
  36. 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  37. 1/2 cup lime juice
  38. 1/3 cup chicken stock
  39. 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (coriander leaves)
  40. 2 cloves garlic
  41. 1 teaspoon sugar
  42. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  43. Preparation:
  44. Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Serve warm.
  45. Ranch Dipping Sauce:
  46. 3/4 cup plain yogurt
  47. 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  48. 1 (1 ounce) package of ranch dressing mix
  49. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  50. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, blend yogurt, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix. Mix well with a wire whisk. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
  51. Sun-dried Tomato Aïoli Dipping Sauce:
  52. 1 1/2 cups light mayonnaise
  53. 1/3 cup firmly packed sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
  54. 1/4 cup milk
  55. 1 garlic clove
  56. 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  57. 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  58. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  59. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  60. Process all ingredients in a food processor for 15 seconds or until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides as needed. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week
  61. Herb Dipping Sauce:
  62. 2 garlic cloves
  63. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, stems removed
  64. 2 teaspoons oregano
  65. 1 cup fresh chopped parsley
  66. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  67. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  68. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  69. 1/2 cup warm water
  70. 1/2 cup olive oil
  71. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  72. Process garlic in a food processor for 20 seconds or until minced. Add basil and the next 5 ingredients; process for 10 seconds. Whisk in the rest of the ingredients.
  73. Teriyaki Dipping Sauce:
  74. 1 1/2 cloves minced garlic
  75. 4 teaspoons oil
  76. 8 tablespoons sherry wine
  77. 8 tablespoons soy sauce
  78. 2 tablespoons toasted sesame sees
  79. 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  80. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  81. 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  82. 4 tablespoons water
  83. In a bowl, combine garlic, sherry wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes, and mix well. Heat in a small saucepan. In a small bowl mix cornstarch with cold water, and add to the hot mixture till thickens.
  84. Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce:
  85. 1 cup sour cream
  86. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  87. 16 ounces blue cheese
  88. 2 tsp hot red pepper sauce
  89. 1 tsp Worcestershire
  90. 1 tsp salt
  91. optional: 1 tablespoon celery
  92. Place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process on high speed until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  93. Curry sauce
  94. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  95. 1 tablespoon butter
  96. 1 cup chicken broth
  97. 1/2 cup dry white wine
  98. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or about 1 tablespoon dried
  99. 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  100. 1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder, or to taste
  101. 3/4 cup heavy cream
  102. Salt, to taste
  103. In a saucepan, add the chicken broth, wine, parsley, garlic, and curry powder. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes longer. Stir in cream and add salt, to taste. Heat through. Dip wings in the sauce.
  104. Cajun Remoulade Sauce:
  105. 2 cups mayonnaise
  106. 2 tablespoons ketchup
  107. 2 tablespoons creole mustard, cajun mustard, or deli-style mustard
  108. 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  109. 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  110. 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  111. 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish or more if you like
  112. 2 garlic cloves
  113. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  114. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  115. 1 teaspoon celery salt
  116. 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  117. Mix all together using a hand-held blender, or mixer, and store in a glass jar used for dipping chicken wings.
  118. Bourbon Dipping Sauce:
  119. 1/3 cup Diced Red Onion
  120. 1/2 teaspoon Finely Diced Garlic
  121. 1/2 cup Water
  122. 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  123. 1/3 cup Teriyaki Sauce
  124. 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  125. 1/3 cup White Grape Juice or substitute 2 tablespoons grape jelly mixed with water to make 1/3 cup
  126. 1/2 cup Bourbon
  127. 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce
  128. Place ingredients in a saucepan in the order listed. Mix and stir after each ingredient. Place on medium heat and stir until the mixture reaches the boiling stage. Turn the temperature down to low until the mixture is on a slow simmer. Cook sauce for 35 – 45 minutes and remove from heat. The mixture will have reduced in volume by about a 1/4 to 1/3.
  129. Pizza Dipping Sauce:
  130. 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  131. 2 oz cream cream
  132. 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper, optional
  133. 1/2 c. canned or homemade pizza sauce
  134. 1/4 cup shredded provolone
  135. 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  136. 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  137. Combine spices, and cheeses. Add sauce. Microwave for 5 to 7 minutes.
  138. Salsa Cheese Dipping Sauce
  139. 1 16 oz package of sharp cheddar cheese
  140. 1 8 oz jar Picante sauce or salsa medium heat
  141. 1 tablespoon finely chopped black olives
  142. Microwave till cheese melts and transfer to a crockpot on warm.
  143. Asian Peanut Butter Dipping Sauce:
  144. 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
  145. 1 garlic clove
  146. 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  147. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  148. 1 teaspoon sugar
  149. 1/8 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
  150. 1/3 cup water
  151. Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  152. In a blender puree together peanut butter, garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, sugar, cayenne, water, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth.
  153. Transfer the sauce to a serving bowl.
  154. Makes about 1 cup.
  155. Greek sauce:
  156. 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  157. 1/2 cup chopped peeled cucumber
  158. 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  159. 2 tablespoons snipped fresh dill or 2 teaspoons dill weed
  160. 1 garlic clove, peeled
  161. Dash salt
  162. In a blender, combine the sauce ingredients; cover and process until smooth. Transfer to a small bowl; cover and refrigerate until serving.
  163. Salsa Sauce:
  164. 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  165. 2 small cloves garlic, minced
  166. 3 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and seeds removed, chopped
  167. 2 hot chile peppers, Serrano or Jalapeno, finely chopped
  168. 2 to 3 tablespoons minced cilantro
  169. 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons lime juice
  170. salt and pepper
  171. Rinse off in a strainer chopped onion and garlic with hot water and pat dry. Place all other ingredients in a bowl or a food processor and pulse a few times and mix together. Serve with chicken wings.
  172. Creamy Parmesan Dipping Sauce:
  173. 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  174. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  175. 1/4 cup buttermilk
  176. 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  177. 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
  178. 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  179. Whisk all together in a bowl. Lasts around a week in the refrigerator.
  180. Caesar Dipping Sauce:
  181. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  182. 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  183. 4 tablespoons sour cream
  184. 1/2 the juice on a fresh lemon
  185. 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  186. 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  187. 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  188. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  189. 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  190. Place all ingredients in a food blender or food processor until it's smooth
  191. Makes 1 1/2 cups
  192. Alfredo:
  193. 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  194. 1 cup heavy cream
  195. 2 tablespoon butter
  196. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  197. 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  198. white pepper to taste
  199. 1/2 cup chicken broth
  200. In a medium saucepan add broth, butter garlic, and pepper, and bring to a boil. Add heavy cream, and cook until thick and creamy. Stir in cheese.
