I wanted something special. This Lady Finger Lemon Dessert was worth a little extra time to make a special treat for the family.
We all live a distance between us, this was the perfect way to celebrate together with a special yummy dessert.
These Patriotic colors are great not only for Memorial Day, 4th of July, Veterans Day and Labor Day, but you can also switch up the colors of fruits on top to make it festive for any holiday event.
At Christmas time I love to make this green and red cherries on top and those go great with lemon also!
This dessert is a real show stopper and impressive, you're not going to believe how easy it is to make!
Take a look at the simple instructions on how to create this beautiful treat for your special family holiday and any occasion.
Easy and Fun Dessert
This semi-homemade lady finger dessert is much easier to make than it looks!
I love using these ladyfinger cookies, they really make a nice edging for this dessert and looks so pretty.
A Pretty Layered Cake!
When I first started to put this together, I thought immediately, this is going to be a pretty cake.
The layers are rich in flavors. The pound cake, lemon, whipped cream, and fruit all compliment each other in flavors.
Making a trifle in a see-through glass bowl just doesn't have the same impact of the "wow" factor like this ladyfinger cake has.
I can tell by the look on everyone's face they were truly in awe on how beautiful this came out.
Psst easy peasy! Seriously! I felt a little guilty.
It truly looks harder than it is. That's why I took so many photos for you to see.
Hopefully if will help by seeing how easy it is to build this delicious lady finger lemon cake.
Spring form Pan is A MUST HAVE
One tool that is necessary to have to make this dessert is a springform pan.
It will be easier to remove the cake as it's in two pieces.
The ring comes off so it stays together.
Then buy some coordinating ribbon and add it around the cake to stay in place.
How easy it comes together step by step
The photos of how step by step this comes together. I love to have a visual photo when making something.
One photo of just the finished product for me is more difficult to copy how it's supposed to look to me.
I am not that talented when it comes to trying to just design something from a finished photo. Step by step for me is so much easier.
Hope these photos of my ladyfinger lemon dessert helps you feel confident to make one and it looks easy enough for you to make one soon.
Remember to leave some room at the top for the whipped cream!
It's easy to build but you have to remember to leave enough space for the whipped cream at the top.
Just try and make sure you have at least two inches at the top for cream and fruits.
Lady Finger Lemon Cake will wow your guests and family!
Whether you make this for family or friends, this ladyfinger lemon dessert is a show stopper.
Its elegant design is perfect for any special occasion or just because it's so delicious and easy to make!
Grandma's Pound Cake
I love my grandmother's recipe for pound cake that I use in this recipe.
Since ladyfingers are on the outside and more of a sponge cookie, you may want to try her sponge cake recipe also.
Whichever one you choose this trifle style cake is a fabulous lemon cake dessert.
The pretty whipped cream makes the cake elegant with fresh berries finishes it off perfectly.
The cake holds together nicely, I just thought the ribbon was a nice finishing touch!

Family Fun

Brother Luke, John and myself in the center. Antonio and Talia my grandchildren on the bottom.
It was great to see everyone.
Homemade or Semi Homemade
Building this cake was quite simple.
I was afraid it would fall apart but it molded beautifully. It certainly was impressive to everyone.
I made my own homemade lemon pudding, homemade pound cake, but used store bought lady fingers.
I usually use the sponge cake recipe when making my tiramisu recipe. This time I made it with lemon and pound cake because it's a family favorite.
Trifles Are Fun
This trifle Lady Finger Lemon Dessert was so much easier to make than I ever expected. Of course, you can buy everything already prepared.
The ingredients are simple to find in any grocery store and just build it with my simple instructions below.
This was a special day. It's not often our family has all been able to get together at once. We all live a good distance from each other.
I was able to see both my brothers, my sons, and their family and my nephew who lives in Georgia. Even though the rest of us live in Florida, it's still a long drive.
I wanted to make something super special to celebrate the day.
This lady finger lemon pudding dessert was certainly a showstopper to everyone, they all took photos of it!
This was a beautiful addition to our dessert table.
It looked perfect on the table even as a pretty centerpiece.
I know everyone didn't want to cut into to it! I can't wait to make it again and try some other fillings.
I would love to try an all strawberry trifle or even use a chocolate pudding inside. The ladyfingers with espresso on them certainly made it very flavorful and will go great with chocolate pudding.
I am sure if your family isn't a huge lover of lemon like mine is, you can try your own filling ideas.
Lady Finger Lemon Dessert and Brother John
Today was a special family day, with lots of love and prayers going out to my older brother John. I made the cake and dinner special for him. The day was filled with love.
My brother John was diagnosed with cancer this week, and everyone knows when you hear that word, your heart skips a beat.
We all know someone in our lives that have had this or battling this dreadful disease and I pray for all those afflicted. We shared lots of love, laughs and strength today.
This post and day were dedicated to his future healing and we had a beautiful day together.
The song was dedicated to me. John is an entertainer and has been all his adult life. Singing and playing the piano for a living is his passion, and we are all very proud of his accomplishments.
He dedicated a favorite song to me by my request, "Just the way you are". I wanted to share this with my readers and see the love we share in our family.
