Nutty Cheese Ball

Friday, November 8, 2019
I have been making this vintage Nutty Cheese Ball recipe since the early 1970s.

Whenever I was asked to bring something for a New Year's Eve party, this was the first appetizer I thought about bringing.

Actually, as time went on everyone asked me to bring this, no lie it's addicting.

The cheese spreads great on anything and you can't stop eating it.

I always make two one with roasted pumpkin seeds for those who have allergies and one with my favorite, chopped pistachios on it.

You can roll the cheese ball in any nuts you like and this will be the best appetizer throughout any party, gathering or holiday.

We are huge cheese lovers but who isn't? We love mozzarella fried, blended in broccoli casseroles and even melted on pizza!

Easy to make, comes together quickly and you can serve them with the several suggestions I have below.

This Cheese Ball Rocks!

Amazing flavors all shaped into a glorious cheese ball that is to make and always at hit at every gathering.

This simple combination of cheeses, shaped into a festive ball then rolled into nuts (or roasted pumpkin seeds if allergies exist) turns in a delightful spread for crackers.

The secret's in the Worcestershire sauce and totally adds the perfect flavoring that steps this up from plain to fabulous!

Use finely chopped pistachios, macadamia nuts, walnuts, pecans, almonds or again try soy nuts or pumpkin seeds if you prefer.

You can even add some hot sauce to make even another little kick to change this up a bit for folks who love a little heat.

Preparation

I always make my cheese ball at least 24 hours in advance.

If you really don't have a lot of time, these also freeze well, just make them, place in a freezer bag and thaw the night before.

Just be sure to refrain from adding the nuts, thaw, and roll just before serving.

Serve the cheese ball with a variety of crackers, toasted garlic bread cut into squares, pita points or it's great on apple slices or pears.

Holiday

This is perfect for any holiday and I just love to serve this festive-looking cheese ball to my guests.

It really is always the best bet when I need something in a hurry to serve and I always keep some crackers on hand in a pinch!

One tip I have to change this into a holiday delight, add sliced green olives with red pimentos to trim this up with the green pistachios and it's perfect for Christmas!!
