Our Italian Traditional Easter Dinner

Sunday, April 24, 2011
Here is a Traditional Easter Dinner we have made every year since before I was even born.

Mom made the same menu every year that we looked forward to that consisted of Soup, Lasagna, Lamb, Rice, and lots of yummy desserts.

Take a stroll through our family traditions and pick out something you think you would like to try for your Easter menu.

this is a bowl of tortellini pasta in a rich chicken and in the background garlic bread, grated cheese and wine broth that It's in a white porcelain bowl called wedding soup.

  18. What gorgeous memories and grand times you brought back. It's been a long time since I had a true Italian Easter - now it's part Italian and part Midwestern - and that's fine but you did make me long for your pasta, lamb, Sambuca (!!!***). Buona Pasqua, Claudia.

I'm originally from Astoria-Queens and grew up in an Irish-Italian neighborhood and so I used to go often on sunday to my best friend Ann Graci's house for an ALL DAY lunch and had all this wonderful dishes and of course later, with my Italian borfriends out to eat...and my all time fav is Italian, I make my own pasta at home, always, like a mama! Wish I was going to your house for all this food!

  26. Your dinner or I should say feast looks amazing. The tortellini soup is a meal in itself! We have lamb here in our house too, or turkey or salmon if it's hot like it is today. Mostly because I don't eat ham. :D I'm glad you were tagged too...so I can check all these recipes out.
