This easy dessert can be layered in any kind of pan or even made into a large trifle bowl.
This classic no-bake dessert was said to first be introduced at the Olive Garden on the menu of sweet treats to order.
We love the basic recipe since it could be transformed into so many flavored lasagna desserts just by using vanilla, lemon, or another pudding flavor, any kind of cookies work great and such a versatile filling so it can be a new dessert every time you make it!

No-Bake Desserts are the Best!
Make this dessert for picnics, a holiday, or a backyard barbecue, it will be a smash hit every time and will feed a large crowd easily.
The cream cheese addition and whipped cream make this fluffy style lasagna dessert is very filling.
Similar to an icebox cake with layers of cookies, cream cheese, and whipped cream with pudding.
Try this with lemon cookies and lemon pudding it's delicious or peanut butter nutter butter with chocolate pudding it's also delicious.

Tips and Suggestions
- refrigerate this for at least 2 hours before trying to cut into it if making a lasagna pan style
- when making a trifle this can be served within 30 minutes of refrigeration since it doesn't have to form a square when cut
- use vanilla, lemon, and butterscotch pudding with the same ingredients and switch up the flavor
- use another cookie other than Oreo, Nutter butter (which is what I used in this recipe), shortbread, vanilla wafers, graham cracker, or even a cinnamon snickerdoodles with a favorite flavor pudding this will make a delicious unique dessert
- garnish the top with cherries, mini chocolate chips, chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or crushed candy bars

This classic recipe for Chocolate Cookies and Cream Lasagna is so darn tasty for a no-bake dessert everyone will think it took you hours to make.
Make it anyway you want either in a stacked trifle bowl or lasagna pan either way this dessert will be a huge hit with the first bite!
This chocolate pudding layer dessert is a winner for parties and potlucks and is loved by kids and adults alike and can be made 3 days ahead of time and still be delicious when served.
Although most folks make this in a long baking pan, it looks pretty in a trifle bowl and is just a little fancier to be a show stopper whenever you need a quick dessert.

Chocolate Cookies and Cream Lasagna Trifle

This is a layered chocolate pudding cookies and cream cheese layered style like a lasagna dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 package of chocolate sandwich cookies crushed or any kind of cookies you prefer(around 34 cookies)
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 8-ounce package of cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 5.9 - ounce package of chocolate instant pudding
- 3- 1/4 cups of milk (plus 2 tablespoons for cream cheese filling)
- 3 cups of whipped cream or a 12-ounce tub of whipped topping
- 1 1/2 cup of semi-sweet shaved chocolate chips
Instructions
- Mix the melted butter with the cookie crumbs (you choose to use) to make the crust. (Use a rolling pin or food processor to make crumbs). Press the crumbs into a 13 x 9 sheet pan or deep see-through glass trifle bowl.
- Add the cream cheese and the 2 tablespoons of milk in a clean large bowl and beat together using an electric mixer. Add the sugar and blend together till smooth and creamy looking.
- Using a spatula, fold in 1 1/4 cups of whipped cream.
- Spread that mixture over the cookie layer.
- Beat the instant pudding and milk together until it thickens in another bowl.
- Spread pudding over the cream cheese layer.
- Top with remaining whipped cream then sprinkle with shaved chocolate or chocolate chips and refrigerate 3 hours before serving.
- Note: to set this up quicker place it in the freezer for 1 hour.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the delicious recipe. Am I missing something? I am guessing the cookie crumbs are mixed with the melted butter, then put in the pan? The directions do not say this. Also, the picture of the slice looks like you used Graham crackers, which I use for lots of icebox type desserts. Is that right? Thanks!
