My Italian Burger!
If you love burgers, this is an easy gourmet style and juicy one.
The burger has a creamy cheesy sauce topping that is sure to make everyone beg for more.
This alfredo sauce has just a perfect amount of garlic to make this the Best Italian Burger ever!
I also have grandma's recipe for plain Italian burgers that we love you may remember?
Or maybe my Garlic Parmesan Lemon Spinach Sauce Burger, those were so good too!
These provolone alfredo burgers are a definite new favorite in our house!
Love This Burger
This is a meat lovers burger for sure.
The beef is well seasoned and the combination of sausage just makes this so flavorful.
Then this homemade alfredo sauce topping compliments it perfectly.
All of these flavors just meld together in a juicy one perfect bite!
Don't forget to try my Italian French fried potatoes to go along with this burger!
Dress it Up!
The garnishes are totally a matter of your taste.
I use all kinds of garnishes off to the side, not everyone likes tomatoes, lettuce or other toppings.
Some of my family just loves this sauce so much that's all these burgers need.
Dress it up or dress it down!
Fresh is Best
I am lucky enough to grow all my own fresh herbs and then when the season ends I dry them or freeze them.
Some of the seasonings used in these burgers are a medley or fresh or dried herbs.
If you can always use fresh chopped basil, parsley and minced garlic for a spectacular taste.
Ingredients You Will Need
- Ground Chuck or ground sirloin
- sausage hot or sweet loose
- egg
- Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- Italian dry seasoning
- Merlot wine or Cabernet
- Romano grated cheese
- granulated garlic
- garlic minced fine
- fresh parsley chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- olive oil
- red pepper flakes
- shredded provolone cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- butter
- heavy cream
- Rolls of Choice: Pretzel Rolls, Ciabatta Rolls, Hard Rolls
This Alfredo Sauce
This alfredo sauce is so creamy and thick with delicious cheeses and a hint of garlic.
The burger sings with this sauce on it to the highest note!
I love the sauce so much, I use the leftovers for a pasta dinner the next night.
The kids also love to dunk garlic knots into this sauce with any leftovers!
Garlic and Cheeses
This burger is all Italian with a capital I, you can switch up the cheeses any way you like, we stick to provolone unsmoked or whole milk mozzarella.
If you like a different cheese, just add whatever you like, cheddar added is awesome too.
Tips
- Never pat down the hamburgers while cooking, it removes the juices
- While making the hamburger patties place wax paper between them
- Use loose sweet or hot sausage
- Refrigerate the burgers while making the alfredo sauce
- The fat from the sausage will make a large high flame so keep it on low heat
- Use all fresh herbs when possible for best results
- Use your favorite hard rolls, garlic bread or even pretzel rolls. our favorite is either a hard roll or ciabatta bread roll.
Grilling
Because of the high-fat content in both types of meat, adjust the temperature for grilling on low.
Of course, you can pan fry in a cast iron skillet too with a little olive oil, they come out great indoors too!
Meats
Mom always made her own homemade sausage, so I still do.
Be sure to get some sausage meat that is loose hot or sweet to add to the beef, it really kicks up the taste and goes perfectly with the alfredo sauce.
The flavors together are total perfection for this burger.

Cooking The Burgers
If you don't happen to have a grill, I highly recommend using a cast iron skillet to cook them on the stove top.
