Burger Toppings and Topping Bar Ideas
- Classic bacon and cheddar burger
- Mushroom sautéed with Swiss cheese
- Blue cheese crumble burgers
- Baby spinach, fried onion straws BBQ sauce
- Substitute a Lamb patty seasoned with oregano and cumin, Tzatziki
- Grilled pineapple slices, Swiss cheese, Mixed greens, red onion rings, and Teriyaki
- Guacamole, pepper jack cheese, Jalapeño slices, crispy tortilla strips
- Roasted red pepper strips, Arugula, and balsamic glaze drizzle
- Garlic aioli (mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice)
- Fried Eggs with runny yolk
- NOTE: Add as many condiments, other vegetables, and meats to your serving bar,r just remember to serve them cold on ice to keep them safe from the heat! We usually fill a big cooler bin of ice and add our toppings, then cover with plastic wraps and away from the heat.
Ingredients You Will Need to Make Beenie Weenie Burgers
- Hotdogs:Cheese filled Hotdogs
- Tomatoes: Chopped Cherry Tomatoes
- Peppers: Hot of Bell Peppers
- Beans: Pinto Beans in chili sauce
- Spices: Cumin, chili powder, granulated garlic
- parsley flakes
- salt, pepper
- red pepper flakes
- Worcestershire sauce
- Ground Beef: Raw ground chuck hamburger
- Hamburger rolls
- Butter
- Cooking spray
Cooking the Burgers
- Grilled: indoors on a cast iron gridded skillet or outdoors on a gas or charcoal grill
- Smokers: Smoked burgers are a nice change in flavors, and there are many varieties of wood chips to add a different flavor
- Baked in the oven: Burgers can be baked on a deep baking pan in the oven at 400 degrees
- Air fryer: Air-fry patties for 7 minutes, flipping halfway through, for medium doneness. For well done, air-fry for an additional 2 minutes
- Personally, I prefer a charcoal grill over gas or indoor grilling, so just choose your preferred method of cooking.
Tips for making Homemade Burgers:
- I like to use raw hamburgers mixed with seasoning for the best flavors.
- Use any kind of hamburger you like.
- Cook the hot dogs first before adding them to the chili.
- Use any variety of peppers, hot, jalapenos, or bell.
- For cheese lovers and additional toppings, shredded sharp cheddar, pepper jack or provolone
- Make a big pan of chili to top potatoes, filled tortilla wraps or freeze it for another time
- Serve on the side for guests to top the burger themselves

Beanie Weenie Burgers
Sliced hot dogs and chili are the toppings to make a plain burgers go from plain to gourmet for your next cookout

Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground chuck hamburger meat
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- salt and pepper
- cooking spray
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Shape into patties and place on wax paper and put aside in the refrigerator.
- Garlic Ciabatta Rolls or other rolls
- Optional: shredded sharp cheese, olives, or any other toppings
- Chili Recipe or Make Your Favorite Recipe:
- 1 package of hot dogs, sliced any brand, or cheese-filled brats, around 6
- 2 cans of pinto beans in chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 small container of chopped cherry tomatoes
- vegetable or olive oil
- 1 cleaned and chopped bell pepper, hot pepper, jalapeno pepper or habanero
Instructions
- Mix the hamburgers with the seasoning above. Shape into patties.
- Grill, fry, bake, or air fry your burgers and keep them warm.
- Make the chili ahead of time (leftover chili is perfect for this recipe).
- Chili Instructions:
- Add oil to the pan, saute the hot dogs until browned.
- Stir in the vegetables, then add the rest of the ingredients.
- Simmer for around 30 minutes.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble the burger:
- Place the burger on the roll of choice or bread.
- Top with chili and hotdogs mixture and any other options you prefer (sliced cheese, peppers, or any other toppings you prefer).
