- 1 - 15.25-ounce box of Christmas funfetti seasonal cake mix (or white cake mix and add 1/2 cup of Christmas sprinkles)
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 stick (1/2 cup butter) softened (if you melt this, then refrigerate the dough for 1 hour)
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- green food gel, around 1/4 teaspoon or 3 drops of food coloring in the bottle
- 2 large eggs
- Garnish and roll the cookies in before baking:
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- After baking:
- While cookies are still warm, add either red cinnamon candies, red heart candies ( or, after cookies cool, pipe hearts with frosting on the cookies).
- Optional: sprinkle with more powdered sugar if desired after baking
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the butter. food coloring, eggs, mini chips, funfetti cake mix, oil, and almond extract all together.
