Vintage Nougat

Wednesday, December 1, 2021
If you want to add a quick easy colorful candy to your recipe collection for the holiday, you're going to love our vintage recipe for nougat that dates back to the 1950s.

This nougat is quite different from my homemade authentic variation as it is made with white chocolate, mini marshmallows, and butter in around 5 minutes.

The original nougat was invented in the 15th century and made with egg whites whipped as we do with our recipe for Italian Torrone recipe.

This fast style nougat is very quick pillowy soft and fluffy.

Our candy can be made on the stovetop or there is a microwave version you can make as well.

Dots, gumdrops, or even jelly beans are folded into this melted nougat confection and make an absolutely stunning addition to any candy or cookie tray for the Christmas or even Easter season just by adding colorful themed candies.

No standing over a hot stove long this version is super fast and so easy and if you love quick easy confection do try our Chocolate Fudge, Amaretto White Fudge, and our Irish Cream Truffles all quick, easy family favorites.

This festive candy is perfect for gift giving and makes around 60 small cut-up pieces!

If you love making homemade food gifts, check out our list of free recipes for Food Gifts in Mason Jars we also offer gift tags and a free ebook download for great gift-giving ideas.
