- two square pans for a two-layer square cake
- Disposable cake pans are perfect for taking this to a party
- Line the pans with parchment for easy removal if using metal
- Freeze the cake for up to 6 months, and thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving
- Store cake covered and in the refrigerator for up to 4 days

World's Best Chocolate Cake
An all-made scratch cake and if you're a chocolate lover this is the best chocolate cake ever.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup dark unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup hot tap water
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Milk Chocolate Frosting Recipe:
- 1 cup softened butter,
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup Dutch cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons of milk or strong coffee
- Beat the sugar with butter till fluffy, and add in the cocoa, vanilla, and milk.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour either 2-9 inch pans or a 13 x 9-inch pan.
- In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and powder along with the salt and whisk that together.
- Stir in the hot water, buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
- Mix with an electric mixer until combined around 2 minutes.
- Add to your prepared pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes depending on what pan you used.
- A toothpick in middle should be clean when inserted and removed for it to be done.
- Cool a few minutes before removing it from the pan.
