With powdered sugar fresh apple cake... our favorite way! |
Cake Batter
2 Cups Granulated Sugar
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
½ Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon Ground Cloves
½ Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 Cup Vegetable Oil
3 Large Eggs
3 Cups Chopped Apple (Gala, Fuji, or McIntosh)
Glaze
½ Cup Unsalted Butter
¼ Cup Water
1 Cup Confectioner Sugar
2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heavily grease a large bundt pan.
Place dry ingredients together. Add liquid stirring and combine. Add the chopped apples and pour mixture to bundt pan or use a 13x9 cake pan less time is needed. Spread the mixture evenly. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a tooth pick in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 20 minutes before inverting on to a plate.
While cake is cooling, prepare glaze. Melt butter and slowly add confectioner sugar and cinnamon. Beat till smooth. Add water and mix until combined. Slowly pour over the cake while its still warm. Or if you prefer sprinkle with just confectionery sugar.
As you can see you can add many variations to this... glazed, plain and in squares... enjoy! |
