Fun Peep Easter Ideas

A childhood favorite and through adulthood, I love my marshmallow peeps.

They're such a festive Easter treat and I love using them to decorate with!

The Easter Holiday tables always bring a smile to everyone's face that sees my peep fest!

You can get as creative as you like.

Cakes, cookies, cupcakes with just a few fun ideas for the kids and young at heart.

I even make a pretty cool adult drink!

You will love these treats and it's easy for the kids to help and a great family Easter project.

Get creative, I love coming up with new ideas every year!








Things to Do With Easter Peeps

  1. top jello cups
  2. use peeps on top of cake, cupcakes, and cookies
  3. lightly frost them and  dip them in Easter colorful sprinkles then place them on lollipop sticks
  4. make peep cars with twinkies directions below
  5. make vanilla or chocolate pudding dirt cups with snack packs and place peeps on top
  6. use them between graham crackers with chocolate S'mores
  7. use them in Smores brownies
  8. place them in hot cocoa mugs on top
  9. make a peep bouquet with fruit cutouts using bunnies with a cookie cutter Easter shapes
  10. make bird nest haystacks with chow mein noodles add a peep in the middle
  11. dip the peeps on the backside with  white chocolate
  12. place small pretzel sticks in the bottom of the peeps to hold in place in cakes and cookies






How to Make a Twinkie Easter Peep Car

Here are the Instructions:



If you want to have the best memories with the kiddos in the family, try this Easter project using peeps.

  1. Rabbit Peeps: use any color: peeps are marshmallows created into rabbits, chicks and other shapes at Easter time
  2. Twinkies: sponge snack cakes found in a box in the premade snack isles of the grocery store
  3. White Chocolate Covered Pretzels: small mini chocolate covered pretzels usually come in a package in white or dark chocolate these will be used for the steering wheel
  4. Candy colorful beads or Jelly Beans: festive cake candy sprinkles found in the cake section of the grocery store
  5. Mini Oreo Cookies for the wheels: (usually found in snack pack bags such as Oreo cream cookies are miniature cookies these are for the wheels 
  6. How to Assemble them:
  7. Just cut a little piece out at the back of the Twinkie and stuff the bunny into that back piece you removed.
  8. Use canned frosting or melted chocolate to adhere to the candy.
  9. Add the wheels on held on by frosting, a pretzel for the steering wheel, and a little frosting on it with sprinkles.
  10. Set them on a large platter and watch how fast they disappear they're not only easy to make but fun to eat!

Tools and Ingredients you may need shopping list:



  • Canned white frosting tinted whatever color you like
  • Food coloring
  • Sprinkles
  • Jelly beans
  • Coconut
  • Any Cake mix or use my favorite recipe Chocolate Cupcakes click here for my favorite recipe
  • Any Cookie mix or here's my favorite recipe for Chocolate Nutella filled cookies click here
  • Any color marshmallow peep bunnies
  • Malted Milk mini eggs
  • Ribbon
  • Aluminum foil
  • Basket Weave Cake Decorating tip
  • Small Bundt Pan
  • Filled plastic eggs
  • Any Store bought cookies or homemade




Preparation:



Tinting the coconut: In a mason jar or plastic ziplock bag, add 1/2 cup coconut with 2 drops of green food coloring and 1 tablespoon of water. Shake and let sit.


Make any kind of cupcakes to package instructions or 13 x 9 sheet cake.


Bake your favorite cookie recipe or use a store-bought kind.


Cool and decorate.




Assembly Ideas:



I use around 1 cup of canned frosting to 1 drop of green food coloring mix evenly.


Frost the tops of cookies and cupcakes or a 9-inch round cake, with green frosting. Pile on the tinted coconut. Place two or three jelly beans on top. Stand up 1 peep on the cupcakes or cookies on the back of the cupcake cookies setting into the frosting.


Note: For the 13 x 9 sheet cake, you will need a small bundt cake for the basket to place in the middle of the cake.


Foil wrapped in ribbon for the handle. Filled plastic eggs. Canned frosting or whipped cream. Tinted coconut and mini malted Easter eggs. The basket weave is made with a Wilton tip and frosting. Use any kind of candy sprinkles on top.


You can also dip half the peeps into the chocolate and then use a lollipop stick to insert and make sucker peeps
