If you are looking for How to Make Colorful sugar at home you found the right page!

This easy DIY way to make sand sugar is so easy, there will never be a reason to go out and buy those little jars of it anymore.

The more important ingredient to have on hand besides sugar is food coloring either in liquid or gel style.

The liquid will take longer to dry but both work perfectly in achieving results.

If you love saving money and making homemade staples like this one you may also like to visit our Homemade Pantry Recipes.

Just remember to also have either mason jars or ziplock bags to store the colors in especially if you're making of a bunch of colors.

For your convenience, I have typed out a printable recipe card so you can keep this one hand when needed at the bottom of this page.

Seriously Easy To Do

During the holidays I can't tell you how many times I use to run out to the store to replenish red or green sugar until the light bulb in my head went off saying "this is sugar and color it must be so easy to make at home".

Once I made all the colors I needed I also realized unless it clumps up and get moisture inside it would practically last forever.

This really doesn't take much time to make but I do like to dry it overnight to ensure the colors don't run on my cake or cookies so try to plan ahead.

One of the easiest DIY projects is making and coloring your own sand sugar, so don't buy it anymore this will save you so much money in the long run!

  3. Perfect timing. Was wondering what to do to fancy up my refrigerator cookie rolls. Got some gold colored sugar in France but don't want to use it all. This way I can do some special purple trims this year with the gold. Thanks!
