Grilled Fruits

Nothing beats grilled fruit kabobs and for all our folks watching their waistline melons are the lowest in calories and the topping of choice would be Greek yogurt!

When fresh fruit is in full swing of the season, this is the best way to enjoy your favorite summer fruits especially if you’ve never grilled fruit before, you're in for a real fun treat.

You can keep them plain and simple or as I mentioned set up a topping bar for your guests to drizzle the many toppings below in our recipe card.

We even included a lovely rum sauce drizzle that tastes amazing on grilled fruit!

Keep it simple!

The rum sauce is made separately so for the kids, of course, you could use just rum flavoring and no alcohol or just pass it on to adults.

You can use cubed pound cake, soft miniature candy bars, fruits of all kinds, and marshmallows to keep the kids and young at heart happy too!

Fruit Suggestions

  • banana soaked in lemon juice
  • cubed pineapple
  • pitted cherries
  • thick-sliced peaches
  • sliced pears, and apples, brushed in lemon juice
  • sliced and pitted mango
  • grapes that are seedless
  • watermelon or another melon you prefer cubed

Garnish Suggestions for Kids and Adult

  1. warmed caramel ice cream topping, strawberry or hot fudge
  2. colorful sprinkles

  8. This looks very interesting and something I'd like to try, but I'm confused with the recipe... You listed the ingredients for the rum sauce but in the directions, you also listed "cardamom" for the rum sauce! How much "cardamom" is used in the sauce?!

    1. Sixburgh, thank you for catching that. The original recipe called for 4 pods but I use only 2. If you love the taste use 4. Thanks
