This is mom's Italian version for London broil and usually, in a slow cooker, it's a foolproof recipe although you can slow cook this in the oven if you don't have one on a low temperature of 250 degrees for around an hour per pound.

If you prefer your meat very rare then this isn't the recipe for you the meat will be tough if not slow cooker and London broil would need to be replaced by a good premium cut of meat like a Tri-Tip, Rib eye roast, or Beef tenderloin.

Slow cookers are really the best way to may any roast tender and fall apart sensational however for those with a rare tasting palette, this would not be the right recipe for you so refer to the cooking chart and use a good meat thermometer and different cut of meat (see below).

Any lesser cut of meat when slow cooke will be a tender full proof meal experience.

The real secret is the juice to keep it moist and let it rest first before slicing it after it's finished cooking for at least 10 minutes.

When you're carving the meat, make sure you place it back into the juice.

The juice will keep the meat from drying out and also enhance the flavors in any leftovers.

Always serve it in the juice or thicken it as written for a gravy however this au ju is delicious that it makes.

Tender, juicy, fall apart, and has a wonderful flavor! I always love the leftovers for a future pot pie this will make the best beef pot pie ever!

  1. I notice your ingredients list shows 1/2 cup beef broth but your directions show 1/4 cup. Which is it? I've actually made this many times for my family and it's become our special events meal. It is one of THE best London Broils! But I just noticed this discrepancy and wondered which one YOU used?
