Easy Smoked Pork Chop Soup
Our soup is quick and easy to make since mostly everything is pre-cooked however it's so basic and easily adaptable.
If you have time to cook the beans from scratch using dried from a bag or substitute fresh-cooked chicken stock instead of water and fresh diced tomatoes, this soup can be adjusted and made either way.
Of course, many other additions you prefer can be added and we will give you a list of suggestions for add-ins below that can make this simple soup into an even heartier all-in-one meal!
My family is a bit pickier when it comes to vegetables in the soup so I use what they like in this basic recipe so adapt away!
Ingredients you will need(refer to the printable recipe card for exact measurements)
- navy beans cooked
- carrots
- cloves garlic cleaned
- stalks of celery
- diced tomatoes
- smoked pork chops
- chopped cooked bacon
- olive oil
- granulated garlic powder
- salt pepper to taste pinch of cayenne pepper
Other Additions and Suggestions
- chopped spinach or another green
- shredded cabbage
- for thicker soup mash up some of the beans with a potato masher
- use chicken or beef stock instead of water
- a small can of tomato sauce
- cooked rice
- cooked small pasta
- red or black beans
- green beans
- corn
- peas
- bay leaf
- thyme
- mustard for tangy flavors
- quick-cooking barley
- Toppings:
- sprinkle with parmesan after cooking and drizzle with olive oil

This Smoked Pork Chop and White Bean Soup is bursting with flavor and is such a simple yet cozy soup of vegetables and smoky pork in a wonderful homemade tomato broth.
If you're looking for a pure comfort soup that is easily adapted to your family's taste, this is it because the additions are endless.

Smoked Pork Chop and Bean Soup

Smoked Pork Chops are perfect to make this hearty bean soup with and so flavorful done in minutes!
Ingredients
- 1 lb navy beans canned rinsed or use dry cooked beans
- 3 quarts of water
- 1 cup or more sliced carrots
- 3 cloves of garlic cleaned and minced
- 2 stalks of celery chopped fine
- 1 - 12 ounces can of diced tomatoes or chopped fire-roasted
- 3 or 4 precooked smoked pork chops
- 1/4 cup chopped crispy cooked bacon
- 1 small diced onion
- olive oil
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or use 1 teaspoon dried
- salt pepper to taste
- pinch of cayenne pepper
- Optional: After the soup is cooked rice, a cooked small pastine can also be added for a heartier soup.
Instructions
- Remove the meat from the bone and cube the pork into small pieces.
- In a medium-size fry pan, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Add the pork and minced garlic, onion, carrots, celery, and tomatoes into the pan saute for around 3 minutes (this is just to flavor the oil and release the flavors from the pork).
- In a large saucepot add the water, beans, salt, pepper, sauteed vegetables and pork, all the spices.
- Stir in bacon and cayenne pepper if using.
- Simmer for around 40 minutes on low heat on the stovetop or until the soup thickens to your preference.
- Slow cooker: add everything to the pot on high for 4 hours to 6 hours.
- Instant Pot: Pressure cook to the instruction book for 25 minutes.
