Best Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies strike the perfect balance between chewy, soft centers and golden, crisp edges, and are loaded with chocolate chips and peanut butter

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 peanut butter
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, or cut up peanut butter cups candy
  • Optional: add a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat together the sugars and butter till light. Add the flour, baking soda, vanilla, and egg to the sugar mixture till blended.
  3. Using a spatula, fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Drop 1 teaspoon of dough on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. using either a teaspoon or a cookie scoop.
  5. Flatten with a granulated sugared glass or just sprinkle with granulated sugar( you also can use colorful funfetti sprinkles if desired)
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes until edges start to brown.
  7. Cool for 4 minutes before removing from the cookie sheet.
  8. Alternative bar cookie method:
  9. Add the batter to a brownie-sized pan, 12 x 10.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees until the middle is set, around 18 to 25 minutes.
  11. Cool cut into bars.
