Everyone raved about how they tasted like they were made from scratch and had no idea the crust was made with a cake mix.
My family is hooked on these bars and with my several topping suggestions below, you can change to a different flavored bar every time you bake these.

The cake mix is mixed up with eggs, flour, and butter that makes a rich moist crust and is so delicious.
We added some mini chocolate chips to the top to give it another layer of chocolate richness.

Tips
- cream cheese must be at room temperature
- store these in airtight containers
- cool completely before cutting them
- use the toothpick method to ensure the middle is cooked
- adjust the baking time for different pan usage
- 13 x 9 baking pan, brownie pans must be at least 3 inches high so it doesn't overflow
- spray parchment paper with cooking oil to avoid sticking

These are so versatile and you can make them with so many different cheesecake toppings.
During the holiday season, I also like to use colorful sprinkles to match the theme, that's even another option.
Just remember to mix and match whatever kinds of candy, chocolate chips, and get creative and name your own cheesecake topped chocolate squares however with any combination you want!.

Chocolate Cake Mix Cheesecake Bars

This is a delicious doctored cake mix with a creamy cheesecake layer. Easy recipe and taste like they're made from scratch!
Ingredients
- Crust Ingredients:
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix any brand
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 stick(1/2 cup) melted butter
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Filling Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 - 8 - ounce brick of cream cheese full fat at room temperature
- 2 - 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Optional: mini chocolate chips or refer to the notes below
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare a brownie-sized pan or 13 x 9 pan lined with oil sprayed parchment paper and set aside.
- Crust:
- Mix all the above ingredients in the crust ingredients list above to form a thick dough.
- Using a spatula or floured fingers, press into the bottom of the prepared pan and set aside.
- Filling:
- Beat the cream cheese with eggs, add powdered sugar and almond until the batter is nice and smooth around 4 minutes.
- Pour this mixture on top of the dough that has been set aside.
- Sprinkle the top randomly with mini chocolate chips.
- Bake at 350 degrees until the top is set and starting to brown.
- This took approximately 35 minutes depending on what pan you use.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Leftovers freeze perfectly and I store them in an airtight container. up to 3 months.
