Old Fashioned Banana Pudding

Sunday, May 24, 2026
Old-fashioned banana pudding is the easiest no-bake recipe we love here in the South.

The best part? Banana pudding is simple to customize.

You can keep it classic and traditional or dress it up with fun mix-ins and creative toppings for a modern twist.

It’s a no-fuss dessert that looks impressive and tastes even better the next day, after all the flavors blend together.

The creamy pudding, bananas, real whipped cream, and vanilla wafers make this a dreamy, creamy dessert that everyone loves.

You have two options: one to use store-bought pre-made or the one I make from scratch.

If you want to bring back fond memories with your family and your mom made this, here is the perfect recipe to do that, and great for any get-togethers.

If you love easy dessert try our Strawberry No Bake Cheese Pie or our Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats, both a family favorites as a child.

Old Fashioned Vanilla or Chocolate Ice Milk

Sunday, April 5, 2020
This is a simple, old-fashioned frozen Vanilla or Chocolate Ice Milk recipe that dates back to the 1940s when my mother's mom used to make this for her.

There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about an old-fashioned dessert made with simple ingredients and a little ingenuity.

This 1940s ice milk recipe is a perfect example.

Long before specialty ice cream shops and endless freezer aisles, families made delicious frozen treats at home using basic pantry staples.

Ice milk is lighter and less rich than traditional ice cream, but it is still wonderfully creamy, cold, and satisfying.

This vintage recipe is especially fun to make because it takes you back to a time when homemade desserts were simple, economical, and often made with whatever ingredients were available.

You may like to try some other delicious frozen confections we love like Cannoli Ice Cream, Double Chocolate Gelato, Watermelon Sorbet, and Italian Lemon Ice.
