When I get a chocolate craving, this is my go to recipe. I love the semi sweet and bitter chocolates in this recipe, it really makes it a little less sweet. When I'm in the mood for chocolate overload, I add the ganache frosting.

The reason I usually keep them plain on top is they're easier to store away. I love the fact that I can make the frosting later and frost them just before serving.

I love the ganache, it is a bit sweeter but makes a great presentation for a dessert when serving guests. The recipe is a little work but very decadent.

I have had chocolate lovers swoon over this one. I make these often for group parties, the office workers and if I need a great recipe that is over the top for the chocolate lovers.

Once in awhile I add nuts but with all the allergies out there, if I am giving them away I omit them.

You can use any kind and add around 1/2 nuts chopped. Walnuts or macadamia nuts are my favorite in this recipe.

The ganache is easy, it's recipe I have used for more than 20 years. Heavy cream, chocolate and vanilla. Not much of a recipe but it creamy fudgy chocolate heaven!

Through the years of baking these I never leave out the secret ingredient, although it is optional (as it states below).

Some folks don't like that ingredient, I think it totally enhances the flavor. Check it out and see if you are a lover of my secret ingredient.

As I said before you don't have to use it, it is optional. When it comes to chocolate I think more is better!

The best part is when they come out of the oven warm. Try them with a scoop of ice cream, hot fudge ice cream sauce and sprinkle pistachios on top for a decadent dessert.

You can use these as a base dessert and make a chocolate warm brownie dessert that everyone will rave about.


Amazing how fast these fly off the plate. I haven't had a person yet not ask me to make these whenever there is a function, this is the most asked for recipe.

 Especially at school bake sales, they sure go fast. I love making these for charity functions. They're not your average tasting brownie, they stand out among the rest.

One other thing, I have never doubled this recipe and I wouldn't try that since it may alter the results.






Triple Fudge Chocolate Brownies

ingredients:


  • 1 cup unsalted butter
    9 ounces bitter sweet chocolate
    1 1/2 cup sugar
    4 large eggs
    1 cup flour
    2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or bitter sweet
    Optional Ganache Frosting:

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line 9 inch with parchment paper. In medium saucepan add the heat to low, melt the butter and chocolate. When smooth add the sugar. Stir in everything else except the flour until well blended. Fold in the flour only until streaks are gone, then chocolate chips.  Pour batter in the prepared pan. Bake until is set in the middle around 40 minute.  Cool completely.
  2. Make ganache:
    1/2 cup heavy cream
    8 ounces semi sweet chocolate
    1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla
    Heat cream, add chocolate and vanilla. Stir until chocolate melts then it will thicken as it cools.
