The steps are very simple, and this dish is perfect for hosting a dinner party, especially for all those who love seafood.
Our Italian American dish is a terrific alternative on Christmas Eve as part of the Feast of 7 Fishes here in Florida, where we had it for the first time in Key West.
Parmesan is a wonderful cheese; we use Parmesan Reggiano grated with this dish, which makes it a star ingredient.
This recipe is so easy and comes together with just a few ingredients in less than 30 minutes!
Why You Will Love This Recipe for Shrimp Parmesan
- Fast and Weeknight-Friendly: Unlike traditional chicken parmesan, which requires slicing, pounding, and an extended cooking time to ensure the poultry cooks through, shrimp cooks incredibly fast
- The Ultimate Texture Contrast: You get the absolute best of both worlds—juicy, tender shrimp encased in a crispy, golden parmesan-crusted batter, all contrasted against a vibrant marinara sauce
- Effortless "Fancy" Factor: As recipe developers note, it is the perfect dish to make when you want a meal that feels elegant and restaurant-quality without actually putting in grueling kitchen labor
- Highly Adaptable Cooking Methods: You can customize the preparation to fit your cooking style or tools. You can fry the shrimp in a cast-iron skillet for maximum crunch, bake them for a lighter alternative, or speed things up by using an air fryer.
- Versatile Serving Options: It pairs beautifully over a classic bed of pasta, scooped into a toasted French bread roll for an incredible Shrimp Parm Hero, or served alongside low-carb noodle alternatives for a lighter meal.
Cooking Methods
- You can add this to an air fryer, bake them on a cookie sheet, or fry them on the stovetop.
- Save time and use bottled marinara and no coating; just use cooked shrimp and layer with cheese and sauce.
- Air fry the shrimp to save calories for 3 to 4 minutes at 400 degrees.
- Grilling shrimp without the coating is another alternative
