If you love Italian Amaretto Liqueur, this is one of those timeless recipes that feels special yet effortless. Once you try it, you may never go back to store-bought again.

This drink is so versatile in so many recipes and ten times better in taste when made from scratch.

Cooking is another great way to use Amaretto, and it's perfect around the holidays for gift giving, along with being so inexpensive to make!

I also have bonus recipes for you during the colder months to use your homemade liqueur in a hot toddy to warm you up and perfect during the cold and flu season.

Then, for a super special flavored cocktail, try my Amaretto Sour recipe, which you will find at the end of this post.

Amaretto is a sweet liqueur made with vodka, and this homemade version is perfect, with it costing only pennies on the bottle in comparison to store-bought.

The recipe takes virtually no time to make, and all you need is a nice bottle to store it in, so don't throw away those empty bottles; you can always use one for making and storing this.

I use Amaretto in my Amaretto Sweet Potatoes, Fudge, Cheesecake Amaretto Hot Cocoa, and so much more, so don't think it's just for drinking!

Enjoy this in a glass or in recipes!

If you love creating from-scratch recipes that feel both nostalgic and luxurious, homemade Amaretto liqueur is about to become your new favorite kitchen project.

Inspired by the classic Italian almond-flavored spirit, traditionally associated with Disaronno, this homemade version captures that same warm, sweet, nutty flavor—without the premium price tag.

Smooth, fragrant, and beautifully balanced, this DIY amaretto blends almond extract, vanilla, and a simple sugar syrup with vodka to create a rich, velvety liqueur that tastes even better after a little rest.

Whether you’re bottling it up for holiday gifts, adding it to your favorite desserts, or pouring a cozy after-dinner drink, this easy recipe delivers authentic flavor with just a handful of pantry ingredients.
