Tips
- Make sure all the sugars are dissolved
- After boiling, cool completely after the sugars are dissolved
- DO NOT add the vodka and flavoring until this is cooled off
- Constantly stir while boiling the sugars
- Use a funnel to add to your decorative bottles

Italian Amaretto Liqueur and Hot Toddy Recipes
This is a how-to make Amaretto Liqueur from scratch, and then making a delicious hot toddy to warm you up during cold and flu season. Whether you make it a hot drink or a cold drink on cubed ice, this is simple and easy to make.

Ingredients:
- How To Make Italian Amaretto Liqueur
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar ( I have also used light; my opinion is that dark is better)
- 1 cup of water
- Add after cooling:
- 2 cups Good Grade Vodka ( I like potato Vodka the best), 80 proof
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
- 2 tablespoons pure almond extract
Instructions:
- For Making the Liqueur
- In a small saucepan, boil the water with both sugars until they dissolve, stirring constantly.
- Cool completely.
- Stir in the vodka and extracts.
- Place in a decorative container using a funnel and seal.
- Hot Toddy with Amaretto Recipe:
- 1- 1/2 ounces Amaretto using this homemade recipe or store-bought or use another sweet Brandy or Frangelico Liqueur
- 1 oz white rum
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 3 oz boiling water
- Pour everything into a mug and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Garnish with a wedge of lemon.
