Swirly Marble Pound Cake

Thursday, September 7, 2017
I love swirly marble pound cake. It's the best of both world. Chocolate and Vanilla cake! The pan I used is also called a swirly pan.

This cake is a classic pound cake in taste but prettier than most because of the pan. It's is one of my favorite new kitchen toys and all my cake come out so pretty!
This swirly marble pound cake is great plain with powdered sugar or topped with fruit.

When I first started baking, grandma taught me to always, use brown eggs, a good grade butter and pure vanilla. Those were the rules. I follow them with just about all my baking ingredients. I love how rich this cake is in taste and texture. Making cakes from scratch, does take a little more time, but worth the wait.

Making the cake marble with both chocolate and vanilla is the perfect solutions for the either or lover of flavors in cakes.
The swirly marble pound cake is one of the prettiest cakes to make in a bundt pan. It just looks super special in design. The bonus is having a scratch cake look pretty, taste great and easy to make.

You really don't ever have to add the powdered sugar, it's just for looks! When I was growing up my dad was a huge jam and coconut fan on any cake.

If he was still alive, that would be on this cake instead. Red raspberry jam and spread with coconut.

Of course if you love frosting you certainly can add your favorite kinds. You can also split this cake in the center and fill it with whipped cream and fruits.

I just love making pretty food! This swirly pan makes the prettiest cakes. This marble pound cake is just a plain delicious chocolate swirled bake in a vanilla batter with powdered sugar on top.

It went to being plain to an elegant bundt cake all because of this pretty pan. I love to serve it split in half with fruits and whipped cream and make it super special for special events. I left it plain for every one this time to go perfectly with our brunch with friends.

Sometimes you just want a little something sweet after a big meal and this is the perfect cake!

Swirly Marble Pound Cake Recipe

2 cups softened butter
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs
4 cups flour
3/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate syrup or use melted semi sweet chocolate

Powdered Sugar
Swirly Pan or Bundt Pan

Using and electric mixer, beat the butter for 2 minutes adding the sugar and beat for 3 more minutes.  Add the eggs one at a time until the yellow disappears. Proceed on low speed,  adding the flour to this butter mixture alternating with the milk then fold in vanilla.
Combine 1 cup of the batter with the chocolate syrup and stir until blended.

Heavily grease and flour your swirly pan or use any bundt pan. First start with yellow batter on the bottom, add the chocolate batter on top, finishing with yellow batter. Swirl with a knife. Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes clean in the center.

Cool completely on wire rack then dust with powdered sugar.
