Food art with creating shaped cakes is made easy with these directions and perfect for a child's birthday party, bride-to-be or wedding shower, and even for baby showers with just a few creative ideas you may have.

We happen to have a crisis in the family with two of my nieces having cancer and since it was October and Breast Cancer Awareness month plus Halloween we made cakes to support both a holiday and support the cause of cancer in this month.

This family project was a huge success inspiring hope and giving joy to be together during a stressful time in our lives.

These special cakes can be transformed for just about any holiday or party event you have going on in your busy lifestyle and will surely impress your friends and family.

The memories that were made making these doll cakes together will last a lifetime.

The instructions, tips, and more are below, and if you would like to avoid any ads, just scroll to the recipe card and hit print they will all go away.

Doll Cake Inspirations

My inspiration for these cakes was to support two nieces who were diagnosed with Breast Cancer and other Thyroid at a very young age in their 30s and 40s.

As a family we all got together and made a pink cake to Support Breast Cancer Awareness and the other was Halloween Fun for the little ones to enjoy.

The cake for cancer was not only to support but for fundraising for others and to be aware, Cancer warrants no one and can happen at any age.

It's not only stressful for the one afflicted with this dreadful disease but the family feels helpless, all we can do is pray for a good outcome.

In our case, both have been in complete remission for 5 years.

Family Support for Cancer is Important for Healing

This project brought everyone together, we made two cakes that would be a joint effort of creativity and love as we collaborated on our thoughts.

Not only was this fun it surely kept our minds off the impending surgeries and made lots of great memories together thankfully through God's hands and love.

Creative Fun Cakes

Her mom Pam was so proud to see how her Breast Cancer awareness cake came out, it was hard to cut and eat it Samantha made it so beautiful.

This was such a pretty creation.

Halloween Cakes

Vinny used the legs to make a Halloween cake, crumbled cookies for the top to look like dirt, and decorated it with the legs upside down, nothing went to waste with the dolls and cake batter!

Witch Doll Cake

The witch was a little trickier making a hat out of thick ribbon and finding some eery-looking sprinkles to add to her purple dress.

Adriana's cake came together perfectly and made it look easier to make than it looked!

  2. Would be cute next time to make the dolls witches for Halloween. :)

I was planning to take a graveyard cake to an office pot-luck the other day. I had made (and written out) cookie headstones, piped a chocolate gate, picked up other spooky candy decorations, etc., but when I inverted the cake out of the pan to frost and decorate it, it completely fell apart lol. Might have to try again for when I'm in the office on Friday.
