I used my fresh pumpkin puree that I had from last year in the freezer. Thawed it out to add to this cake mix and got the moistest most delicious bar ever! This is a great dessert, cake and chocolate heaven bar cookie! I never dreamed that pumpkin and chocolate would be so heavenly in one bar!

Pumpkin really is a great ingredient for cakes, brownies and most fillings. The moistness that it brings to all desserts is just decadent, as these brownie bars are.

I never dreams a cake mix could mask the real deal. These bars will surprise everyone.

They will think you made them from scratch. No way to tell I promise.

They will think you made this chocolate pumpkin bar from scratch for sure.

They are rich in flavor. I love to use applesauce in most recipes for moisture. This does about the same except the taste is so much better.

Who would have thought chocolate and pumpkin? Not me, I didn't believe it until I tried these.

I suppose they would be good with a little frosting instead of powdered sugar, but I am not of fan of that sugary sweetness of frosting.

I like the simple powdered sugar on top. Also during the holiday looks more festive. I like the snowy effect.

I am going to also experiment with a yellow cake mix and use some cinnamon in it to see how those come out or even a spice cake mix.

This is so versatile and easy I am sure all of them will come out great.

If you long sugar sweet bars and love cream cheese frosting, drizzle some cream cheese frosting on top, then add some chocolate melted for added sweetness.

Next time your trying to use up pumpkin look no further. Try this recipe out. You will be pleased on the results and they won't last long.

Everyone raves about them. The kids love them. Blending these two flavors was a win win experiment.

They are now on the make it every year list!

Be sure to give them a try, these will be the easiest bars you will ever make!

The batter is delicious although I don't recommend ever eating raw batter.

I had to taste it just to make sure it was sweet enough!

I don't know how many times I wanted to try adapting a cake mix into a bar but was afraid it would be ruined and didn't know where to start.

So few ingredients goes into semi homemade and viola, out comes the best desserts!

Well after a few trials and errors this one came out amazing!

I always have leftover pumpkin from the holiday and this is the perfect way to use it up.

The flavors were fabulous and worked very well together. Hope you give this a try your will love these!
