The family loves the flavor of Marsala wine and it compliments salisbury steak like no other. The potatoes are garlic mashed potatoes , this is just a wow factor!
Mom's Salisbury Steak Marsala Recipe
Mushrooms 8 ounces sliced
Ground Round Hamburger 1 pound or use cube steaks
Beef Gravy 1 jar 16 ounce or canned or homemade
Marsala Wine 1/2 cup or more if you like
Salt pepper to taste
Garlic granulated 1/2 teaspoon
Parsley flakes 1 teaspoon
Worcestershire sauce 1 - 1/2 teaspoons or more to taste
2 cloves minced garlic
egg just one
bread crumbs 1/2 cup
Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped fine onion ( my family doesn't like onions so I don't use them)
In a medium bowl mix the hamburger, egg, salt, pepper, minced garlic, granulated garlic, sauce then the bread crumbs, mix until well incorporated. Shape into burgers, saute' in olive oil. Add the mushrooms, continue cooking for 13 minutes or till browned on both sides and almost cooked inside.
Add the gravy, marsala wine and simmer on low until the meat is completely cooked around 8 to 10 more minutes.
Serve with rice, noodles or over garlic mashed potatoes.
