Banana Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Tuesday, October 1, 2019
Banana Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies are an amazing moist cookie made with overripe bananas and a fantastic addition to any cookie jar.

With just two bananas, some old-fashioned oatmeal, this delicious cookie using up those bananas make the sweetest tasting soft cookies you'll ever eat, these banana cookies are the best!

Seriously, the next time your bananas turn black try these cookies instead of tossing them.

I always have bananas that are brown and overripe and use to throw them out too but not anymore!

Finally, a banana cookie to make instead of the classic banana bread. We all love these cookies, this is a great change and a cross between cookie and cake-like!

Adding chocolate chips and walnuts makes these cookies scrumptious but you can leave them plain if you prefer. Also, try our Banana Sour Cream Streusel Bars these are also a great way to use up bananas!

Don't throw out those bananas!

Ok, overripe bananas aren't much to look at or eat, right?

There are two things you can do, throw them out or cook them!

I choose even a third alternative, smash them with a fork, add to freezer bags and freeze until I am in the mood to bake!

When you get that craving for something sweet, grab that bag of bananas out of the freezer, soak in hot water for a few minutes and add them to this batter!

These cookies are irresistible and everyone in my house gobbled them up faster than I could take them off the cookie sheet.

Seriously, don't miss this recipe along with the several options you can do to change the flavor of this cookie!

Banana Recipes

I love making recipes with bananas and actually collect them!

These cookies, with the addition of oatmeal I like to tell myself they're healthier and get away with it!

All kidding aside, they're truly easy and can be changed with just a few other additions to make a different flavored cookie every time!

You'll never get tired of this cookie and they go great with a tall glass of cold milk, tea or coffee.

As you read the recipe, don't pass on trying some of those additional ingredients because the basic batter can give you a different cookie every time.

If you love plain cookies leave them out or change the batter into a gourmet bakery-style cookie.

I love to experiment, but truly these taste great just the way they are with nothing extra in the batter!
