Ham Steak

Ham steak is a thick slice cut from a whole roast of ham, either with the bone already removed or bone-in, and once you add all the delicious ingredients, it's really delicious.

One large slice can be made into 4 pieces and you still may have leftovers depending on the size you purchased.

The great advantage to ham steak is most of them are precooked and need very little heating so they are perfect for a quick meal and you don't have to spend lots of time waiting for your dinner to be completed.

There are many topping options to choose from if you're not a pineapple fan, just check out all my suggestions below.

    • 2 /1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar or to your taste in sweetness
    • 2 tablespoon butter
    • Garnish:  maraschino cherries sliced in half

    6. Heat the cast-iron skillet just spraying lightly with oil spray on medium-high heat.
    7. Set those ham pieces into the heated cast iron pan and grill on both sides until you get a nice char around 6 or 7 minutes on each side.
    8. This can also be done outside on an outside grill on foil or directly on oil sprayed, grates.
    9. Set the cooked ham steak on a platter, top with the pineapple, and garnish with cherries.
