Lime Pepper Chicken Freezer Marinade is easy to prepare by mixing the marinade in a bowl adding the meat and freezing it for later all ready for the hurried busy weeknight meal you need to make.

After it is frozen, just cook any method you like. This chicken is bursting with flavor, juicy and tender every time.

We included grilling, pan-fried, baked, air-fried and slow cooking methods, and to make your meal easier just add some frozen vegetables to the microwave or white cooked rice on the side.

Bake, Pan Fry, Grill, or Air Fry Methods for Chicken

  • NOTE: Check the chicken to be at 165 degrees using a meat thermometer in the thickest part:
  • Baked: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place the coated chicken on a greased baking sheet. Spray with cooking oil or drizzle with vegetable oil. Bake for 20 minutes stirring a few times 
  • Grill: For kabobs, soak the skewers first in water for at least 30 minutes. Thread the chicken on the skewers and grill for 4 to 7 minutes on each side on a preheated grill. Use the sauce for dipping. Or leave the breasts whole and grill for 8 to 11 minutes.
  • Air Fry: Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes at 400 degrees. Add the chicken and air fry for 5 minutes, flip and continue cooking in the air fryer until the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer is at 165 degrees in the thickest part of the chicken (around 5 more minutes).
  • Slow Cooker: Put the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot. Pour thawed sauce liquid chicken. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 4-6 hours or until done.
  • Sauteed: Place in a heated medium-size fry pan with 1 tablespoon olive oil, saute' for two to three minutes on each side for thin or longer depending on thickness. Cook until juices run clear and no pink remains.

Tips

  • cubed chicken is completed cooking quickly check the thickest part to be at 165 degrees using a meat thermometer ( can be left whole and sliced in half or cubed)
  • seafood can be substituted IE: shrimp, scallops, and lobster but do not add marinade to the freezer bag or freeze adding any of the fish use this for basting and cooking by using thawed seafood or fresh
  • for more spicy  sauce add cayenne pepper and more ginger to taste
  • chicken thighs cubed  or pork should be boneless or deep-fried  chicken wings can be left whole or cubed
  • always preheat the cooking pan you're using
  • Pork, Lamb, Veal, Venison, and Beef can be used in place of Chicken also

Lime Pepper Chicken Marinade Recipe For the Freezer ready to cook at your fingertips recipes!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon lime peel (you can use lemon if you prefer)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup lime juice ( you can use lemon if you prefer)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon basil or 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless chicken breasts or other boneless pieces you like

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts in half in you will be cooking this in the oven.
  2. If using the crockpot leave the chicken whole this will make them juicy and not dry plus stay tender keeping them whole for slow cookers.
  3. Place all ingredients into a 1-gallon freezer zip lock bag.
  4. Lay flat in the freezer.
  5. Take the bag out of the freezer the night before, and make sure the freezer bag is completely sealed and lays completely flat. I usually add to a bowl just in case it leaks.
  6. Choose a cooking method after thawing see note.
  7. Warning: never thaw out chicken on the countertop, as raw chicken can become contaminated.

  26. I've never heard of marinating in the freezer -- Is this meant to be a make-ahead dish that's ready to thaw whenever you want? The flavors in the marinade sound great, but does the freezing change anything? Would it be just as good if you marinated your chicken?

    1. yes it marinates in the freezer and taste just like you just did the marinade when you thaw it out and cook however you like to make it. We especially like the chicken on the grill in kabobs, but winter time it goes in the crockpot over rice :) hope that helps
