I have been told time and time again that this is better than any rice in a restaurant. Give it a try and let me know what your family thinks.
You can add whatever you want to this. Meat, seafood or even leave it plain. If you love stir fry this will be your go too recipe. Scroll down to see this easy recipe.
If you love fried rice
I have had fried rice everywhere.
It doesn't have to be a complicated recipe. This one is super easy.
It can have everything and anything you love in it and super easy to make.
The Flavors Are All There!
Asian flavors, egg, seafood, meat and whatever you like to go in it.
If you love it plain with no meat that's fine too.
The photo's below are with chicken and shrimp.
I love mine with peppers with the chicken and shrimp, with pork I leave it with carrots and peas.
Change it up!
You can also add sliced mushrooms, and shredded vegetables like zucchini, onions, carrots, cabbage, broccoli or anything else you like.
I have two versions one with chicken and shrimp below and the other is leftover pork roast.
Whatever you have leftover in meats or steak goes great with this rice.
When taking to potlucks I leave it plain and let them add what they want off the grill.
Add What You Like
This fried rice plain with just the egg in it is very good without any other additions.
It's the perfect side dish.
Get creative with whatever you order when at a restaurant, this will transform into your new favorite meal or side dish!
Stir Fry the Chicken and Shrimp
If you are going to add raw meats and seafood, stir fry them in garlic and olive oil until the meats and seafood are cooked through.
I prefer to cook any additions of seafood or meats in a separate pan first.
With the chicken and shrimp, I usually add bell peppers sliced and sometimes even broccoli as see in the photo and do the rice separately.
Snowpeas, shredded cabbage, water chestnuts, and shredded carrots go great as additions as well.
You can add whatever you like to this basic recipe for fried rice if the meats and seafood are cooked first.
Great for Picnics!
This is a great picnic food or stir-fried side dish.
You can also make it an entire meal when adding several types of meat as a combination.
We also love this with chicken skewers off the grill or grilled meats.

Easy Meat or Seafood Stir Fried Rice
prep time: 15 min cook time: 15 min total time: 30 mins
This is a basic recipe for stir fry and stir-fried rice. It can be made plain, with vegetables or meat added.
ingredients:
3 cups instant rice cooked and drained or steamed regular rice cooked
2 cups leftover cooked and cubed meats, chicken, beef or add seafood like shrimp or a combination
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup frozen cubed peas and carrots mix
Optional: any other pre-cooked vegetables, broccoli, shredded cabbage, snow peas or other vegetables you like
1 egg beaten
instructions:
If you are using raw meat, saute it first in olive oil and garlic or granulated garlic, adding around 3 tablespoons of soy sauce set aside when cooked.
In a large fry pan melt butter. Add garlic and egg stir fry until completely cooked. Add rice saute until rice is browned around 10 minutes or more flipping rice to brown on both sides. Add the meat, and any vegetables using the mixture. Continue to cook until rice till soft and everything is heated and cooked how you prefer. Remove from heat. Mix the soy sauce and water together add to the pan and stir.
Note: Any vegetables I used are pre-steamed and just folded in. Most of the time I use leftover cooked meats. Add more water if it gets dry, soy is too salty.
