Other Wings Favorite Cooking Methods

  • Baked: bake at 400 degrees on oil sprayed baking sheet until golden brown turning once
  • Air Fried: set the air frier on 425 degrees for 25 minutes using an oil sprayed basket
  • Broiled: set the broiler on medium-high heat, place on oil sprayed broiler pan for 40 minutes turning often
  • Grilled: Heat the grill on medium heat, oil spray the grates first before heating then add wings and grill until charred around 25 minutes turning once
  • Pan-Fried: using a deep chicken fryer heat 2 inches of oil and fry the wings until browned on both sides and crispy
  • Slow Cooker: brown wings on the stovetop first then add to the slow cooker adding 1/2 cup beer to the sauce of choice, set on high for 6 hours.
  • Smoked: Heat the smoker to 275 using pecan or applewood chips, place the wings in a foil pan. Smoke them for 3 hours at 275 degrees,
  • Deep-Fried: Heat the deep fryer to 425 degrees, spray the basket with oil cooking spray and deep fry do not crowd wings this takes around 15 minutes per batch.

Note: We love them smoked, grilled or baked, or air fried, you can deep fry if you prefer your wings that way.

Tips

  1. make your dipping sauces the day before for best results
  2. store any leftover sauces in small covered mason jars
  3. the sauce will last up to 1 week refrigerated
  4. If make a large batch freeze a portion in plastic containers then thaw in the refrigerator
  5. if adding onion to any of the recipes add them just before serving as they get more pronounced in flavor and overpower the flavors

This is a great assortment of dipping sauces for all the chicken and chicken wing needs. These tasty sauces are great for just about any meats you're cooking and all easy to prepare,

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Apricot Sauce Dip :
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together
  3. one 12-ounce jar apricot preserves (1 cup),
  4. 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar,
  5. 1 tablespoon soy sauce,
  6. and 1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel. Makes about 1 1/4 cups. (Great on grilled Salmon too!) If you like a pina colada dip click here.
  7. Honey Mustard Sauce Dip:
  8. In a medium bowl, stir together
  9. 2/3 cup Dijon mustard,
  10. 1/4 cup sour cream,
  11. 1/4 cup honey,
  12. and 3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire. Makes about 1 1/4 cups.
  13. Buffalo Wing Sauce Dip
  14. 2 oz cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  15. 4 oz bottle blue cheese dressing
  16. 1/4 cup of bottle Frank’s hot sauce (or your favorite buffalo wing or hot sauce)
  17. 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  18. Microwave for around 1 minute for the cheese to melt. Add more blue cheese if too thick and hot sauce.
  19. Classic Traditional Hot Sauce For Buffalo Wings
  20. 1 bottle hot sauce (Franks or another brand) 12 oz
  21. 1 stick of butter melted
  22. pinch of garlic powder, cayenne for more heat as needed)
  23. 2 teaspoons honey
  24. Mix the hot sauce melted butter, spices, and honey in a bowl. Pour over hot cooked wings
  25. Chili Lime Dipping Sauce
  26. 2 tablespoons of jalapeno pepper chopped finely
  27. 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  28. 1/2 cup lime juice
  29. 1/3 cup chicken stock
  30. 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (coriander leaves)
  31. 2 cloves garlic
  32. 1 teaspoon sugar
  33. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  34. Preparation:
  35. Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Serve warm.
  36. Ranch Dipping Sauce
  37. 3/4 cup plain yogurt
  38. 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  39. 1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
  40. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  41. In a medium-size mixing bowl, blend yogurt, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix. Mix well with a wire whisk. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
  42. Sun-dried Tomato Aïoli Dipping Sauce
  43. 1 1/2 cups light mayonnaise
  44. 1/3 cup firmly packed sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
  45. 1/4 cup milk
  46. 1 garlic clove
  47. 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
  48. 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  49. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  50. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  51. Process all ingredients in a food processor 15 seconds or until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides as needed. Cover and chill until ready to serve. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 week
  52. Herb Dipping Sauce
  53. 2 garlic cloves
  54. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, stems removed
  55. 2 teaspoons oregano
  56. 1 cup fresh chopped parsley
  57. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  58. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  59. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  60. 1/2 cup warm water
  61. 1/2 cup olive oil
  62. 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  63. Process garlic in a food processor for 20 seconds or until minced. Add basil and the next 5 ingredients; process 10 seconds. Whisk in the rest of the ingredients.
  64. Teriyaki Dipping Sauce
  65. 1 1/2 cloves minced garlic
  66. 4 teaspoons oil
  67. 8 tablespoons sherry wine
  68. 8 tablespoons soy sauce
  69. 2 tablespoon toasted sesame sees
  70. 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  71. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  72. 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  73. 4 tablespoons water
  74. In a bowl, combine garlic, sherry wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes, mix well. Heat in a small saucepan. In a small bowl mix cornstarch with cold water, add to the hot mixture till thickens.
  75. Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce
  76. 1 cup sour cream
  77. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  78. 16 ounces blue cheese
  79. 2 tsp hot red pepper sauce
  80. 1 tsp Worcestershire
  81. 1 tsp salt
  82. optional: 1 tablespoon celery
  83. Place all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process on high speed until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  84. Curry sauce
  85. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  86. 1 tablespoon butter
  87. 1 cup chicken broth
  88. 1/2 cup dry white wine
  89. 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or about 1 tablespoon dried
  90. 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  91. 1 1/2 teaspoons curry powder, or to taste
  92. 3/4 cup heavy cream
  93. Salt, to taste
  94. In a saucepan, add the chicken broth, wine, parsley, garlic, and curry powder. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes longer. Stir in cream and add salt, to taste. Heat through. Dip wings in the sauce.
  95. Cajun Remoulade Sauce
  96. 2 cups mayonnaise
  97. 2 tablespoons ketchup
  98. 2 tablespoons creole mustard, cajun mustard, or deli-style mustard
  99. 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  100. 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  101. 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  102. 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish or more if you like
  103. 2 garlic cloves
  104. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  105. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  106. 1 teaspoon celery salt
  107. 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  108. Mix all together using a hand-held blender, mixer, store in a glass jar use for dipping chicken wings.
  109. Bourbon Dipping Sauce
  110. 1/3 cup Diced Red Onion
  111. 1/2 teaspoon Finely Diced Garlic
  112. 1/2 cup Water
  113. 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  114. 1/3 cup Teriyaki Sauce
  115. 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  116. 1/3 cup White Grape Juice or substitute 2 tablespoons grape jelly mixed with water to make 1/3 cup
  117. 1/2 cup Bourbon
  118. 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce
  119. Place ingredients in the saucepan in the order listed. Mix and stir after each ingredient. Place on medium heat and stir until mixture reaches boiling stage. Turn the temperature down to low until the mixture is on a slow simmer. Cook sauce for 35 – 45 minutes and remove from heat. The mixture will have reduced in volume about a 1/4 to 1/3.
  120. Pizza Dipping Sauce
  121. 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  122. 2 oz cream cream
  123. 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper, optional
  124. 1/2 c. canned or homemade pizza sauce
  125. 1/4 cup shredded provolone
  126. 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  127. 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  128. Combine spices, cheeses. Add sauce. Microwave for 5 to 7 minutes.
  129. Salsa Cheese Dipping Sauce
  130. 1 16 oz package of sharp cheddar cheese
  131. 1 8 oz jar Picante sauce or salsa medium heat
  132. 1 tablespoon finely chopped black olives
  133. Microwave till cheese melts transfer to a crockpot on warm.
  134. Asian Peanut Butter Dipping Sauce
  135. 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
  136. 1 garlic clove
  137. 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  138. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  139. 1 teaspoon sugar
  140. 1/8 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
  141. 1/3 cup water
  142. Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  143. In a blender puree together peanut butter, garlic, lime juice, soy sauce, sugar, cayenne, water, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth.
  144. Transfer sauce to a serving bowl.
  145. Makes about 1 cup.
  146. Greek sauce:
  147. 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  148. 1/2 cup chopped peeled cucumber
  149. 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  150. 2 tablespoons snipped fresh dill or 2 teaspoons dill weed
  151. 1 garlic clove, peeled
  152. Dash salt
  153. In a blender, combine the sauce ingredients; cover, and process until smooth. Transfer to a small bowl; cover and refrigerate until serving.
  154. Salsa Sauce:
  155. 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  156. 2 small cloves garlic, minced
  157. 3 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and seeds removed, chopped
  158. 2 hot chile peppers, Serrano or Jalapeno, finely chopped
  159. 2 to 3 tablespoons minced cilantro
  160. 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons lime juice
  161. salt and pepper
  162. Rinse off in a strainer chopped onion and garlic with hot water pat dry. Place all other ingredients in a bowl or a food processor and pulse a few times and mix together. Serve with chicken wings.
  163. Creamy Parmesan Dipping Sauce
  164. 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  165. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  166. 1/4 cup buttermilk
  167. 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  168. 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
  169. 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  170. Whisk all together in a bowl. Lasts around a week in the refrigerator.
  171. Caesar Sauce
  172. 2 egg yolk
  173. 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  174. 6 to 8 anchovy fillets, minced
  175. 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  176. 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  177. 3 teaspoons lemon
  178. dash of Worcestershire sauce
  179. 2 cups olive oil
  180. 1 tablespoon warm water
  181. 1 cup parmesan
  182. Place egg yolk, mustard, anchovies, garlic, vinegar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce into a bowl.
  183. Mix with whisk or handheld blender.
  184. Slowly add olive oil to uniformly blend together
  185. If the dressing gets too thick, add warm water and then continue until all the oil is added.
  186. Add parmesan and still till evenly blended
  187. Makes 1 1/2 cups
  188. Alfredo
  189. 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  190. 1 cup heavy cream
  191. 2 tablespoon butter
  192. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  193. 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  194. white pepper to taste
  195. 1/2 cup chicken broth
  196. In a medium saucepan add broth, butter garlic, pepper, bring to a boil. Add heavy cream, cook till thickens and creamy. Stir in cheese.

  53. We certainly love our wings and I've got to admit the males in our family are fantastic at making them. We normally don't have as many delicious dipping sauces as you do but one of our favorite is the bleu cheese one. I happen to like my wings as is without any sauce but the family is nuts about sauces. Will have to give yours a try.

  59. I absolutely love chicken wings! They're so fun to eat, and I'm always looking for new sauces for dipping and cooking. I don't fry my wings either...I prefer to bake or grill them, and I think they taste even better that way

  60. I love dipping sauces and I often use them as my salad dressing when possible too. These would be such a treat served at a BBQ. I usually bake or grill mine but I'd to try deep fry some day. yum.

  74. What a fantastic resource! All those different sauces. This is a keeper! I love using the air fryer for wings and I REALLY appreciate the tips for cutting the wings. I can never seem to do that very well. I look forward to trying again with your tips.
