This is a simple grilled or baked Salmon with just a few ingredients added and absolutely melt in your mouth tender and delicious.


Lemon, dill, butter, wine in a creamy sauce goes over the top of salmon for a complete gourmet easy dish.


During the summer we usually grill it but during the cooler months, we bake it.


You can actually use any citrus it really keeps the salmon moist and tender.

What I really love about this recipe is the ease of making a gourmet tasting meal, the sauce makes all the difference.


Fresh dill is always a first choice but dried in a pinch will work also.


Salmon is one of those healthy oily fish that absorbs all the flavors perfectly in every bite.

Ingredients You Will Need (see suggestions below for more flavor combinations)



  • salmon, (or use sea bass, or halibut, cod, mahi-mahi, or other fish you prefer)
  • white wine
  • butter
  • lemon
  • fresh dill
  • sliced garlic
  • fresh parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: rosemary sprigs

Other Favorite Topping Recipes

  1. teriyaki sauce with crushed pineapple and a little brown sugar
  2. mango, chopped green bell peppers, pineapple, and papaya
  3. pecans, brown sugar, and apricot preserves
  4. fresh lemon butter garlic sliced and fresh dill weed
  5. cajun spices, tequila, and hot sauce
  6. chicken broth butter and fresh parsley, basil, garlic with oregano
  7. jarred pesto
  8. heavy cream with dill and melted butter poured over smoked salmon after cooking
  9. rosemary, lemon wedges, black pepper, and butter


Alternate Cooking Methods

  • Stovetop: saute in a gridded style cast iron pan with 2 tablespoons cooking oil or butter add other ingredients pan-fry around 10 minutes flipping once 
  • Air Fryer: preheat to 400 degrees, oil spray salmon using a pie plate that's oven-proof, or place on an oil sprayed basket. add whatever other ingredients 2 minutes before completed cooking on top it takes around  7 minutes or until salmon flakes easily
  • Oven: preheat oven to bake at 400 degrees using the same directions as air frying but place on bake for 12 minutes with ingredients of choice on top around 6 minutes into baking
  • Grilled: heat the grill to 400 degrees then place salmon, skin side up, on gas grill over medium heat, or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals

Lemon Dill Salmon

This is a delicious lemon dill sauce for grilled or baked salmon.

Ingredients

  • Salmon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or use cooking oil spray
  •  1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 
  • 3 crushed garlic cloves
  • 4 salmon fillets around 1 pound
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • Dill Sauce make this first and set it aside to keep warm
  • 3/4 cup dry white wine
  • 3 tablespoons chopped shallot
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) chilled unsalted butter, cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill

Instructions

  1. Sauce:
  2. Boil wine, shallot, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan over high heat until reduced to 1/4 cup, about 6 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low; add butter, 1 piece at a time, whisking until melted before adding more.
  4. Remove pan from heat. Stir in dill.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Salmon:
  7. Combine ingredients and brush on to the salmon saving some to brush on while cooking.
  8. Heat the grill or oven to 400 degrees then place salmon, skin side up, on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. 
  9. Grill for around 8 to 10 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork, turning once and brushing occasionally with sauce use any remaining for serving.
  10. Baked: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  11. Oil spray a baking pan, add the salmon and bake for around 15 to 20 minutes depending on the thickness of filets. Brush halfway through while cooking.
  12. Serve salmon with butter sauce..
