I was never a big fan of coleslaw until I had it with mandarin oranges and pineapple but then I also have a bonus recipe for you to try called Boozy Coleslaw.
Both are pretty unique in flavor, one is crunchy with a hint of sweetness and a little fruity, the other has a bolder taste with a kick, yes (just add one of your favorite spirits in this salad with a hint of Bourbon, Tequila, or Vodka).
These cabbage slaws are one of the best-tasting coleslaw I have ever eaten and it's hard to pick one better than the other.
The fruit and creamy dressing are just perfect with seafood or meats of any kind and a great warmer weather side dish and just shouts summer.
Our boozy slaw is great for an all adult party and perfect with that grilled t-bone!
We love cabbage in all kinds of ways, like in soups, cabbage stuffed, and this side dish salad.
Take a look at the ingredients of both recipes and scroll down to print this easy fruity slaw out (or boozy slaw) below.
Cabbage Salad
This is one of the best cabbage slaws I have ever had at home, there are many restaurants that serve a fruit-style coleslaw in Florida.
We were on the road home from Sanibel Island and one of the diners along the road have a cabbage salad similar to this with chopped apples, nuts, and raisins and very good.
That's what gave me this idea to make it with a Florida flair and summer feel using the oranges and pineapple.
It was surely a bit hit that everyone loved and I now make often with fried fish or burgers all year long.
