Easy Side Dish
One of my very favorite ways to make sweet potatoes is roasting them because its so easy to do!
Slices of sweet potatoes baked on a cookie sheet with this cinnamon glazed buttery sauce does all the work in the oven in around 50 minutes!
These are super simple and goes great with any meats you like and this side dish is loved by everyone because of the honey glaze.
I really love baking them on parchment paper to avoid mess and cleanup is a breeze!
Simple Ingredients You Will Need
- sweet potatoes or yams
- butter
- cinnamon
- ginger and allspice
- honey, corn syrup, or brown sugar
- fresh lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste.
Other Additions to Add
- maraschino cherries
- broil the tops with marshmallow
- chopped pecans while roasted or other nuts you like
- add sliced fresh apples
- raisins or craisins

Roasted Sweet Potato Cinnamon Slices

The perfect easy sweet potato side dish using roasted sweet potatoes in a cinnamon butter sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 pounds sweet potatoes or yams peeled, cut into 1 1/2-inch piece (about 7 cups)
- 6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of ginger and allspice
- 3 tablespoons honey, corn syrup, or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste.
- Optional Additions:
- maraschino cherries
- broil the tops with marshmallow
- chopped pecans while roasted or other nuts you like
- add sliced fresh apples
- raisins or craisins
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place sweet potatoes on a parchment-lined cookie sheet or use a 13x9x2-inch heavily buttered glass baking dish.
- Stir butter, honey, spices, and lemon juice in a small saucepan over medium heat until butter melts.
- Pour butter mixture over sweet potatoes; toss to coat.
- Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake sweet potatoes until tender when pierced with a toothpick, stirring and turning occasionally for about 50 minutes.

This look fabulous ! I love sweet potatoes and here in Ecuador are delicious. I make a Sweet Potato Bake for Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey and my friends simply eat it all. There was nothing left.
