Grilled Bacon Wrapped Scallops
Bacon-wrapped scallops are a delicious appetizer or can be a whole meal in itself!
Prep time: 5 MinCook time: 7 MinTotal time: 12 Min
Ingredients
- 6 slices of maple or applewood bacon, slightly cooked around 15 minutes (air fried, baked, or pan fried) and cooled
- 12 extra-large scallops
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon of mixed Italian herbs (parsley, oregano, basil)
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste
- Optional Garnish: fresh Dill Weed
Instructions
- Preheat a gas grill or the oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix the butter with herbs, granulated garlic, salt, pepper and cayenne if using.
- Cut the bacon in smaller pieces to fit on top of each scallop.
- Oil spray foil and place on the grill, or use a flat sprayed cast iron griddle (or with grids)
- Add the scallops to the foil or pan.
- Brush with the butter mixture
- Grill these for around 4 to 5 minutes, turning once.
- Baste again or serve the remaining butter poured over them when cooked
- Note: These can also be baked in the oven at 400 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes.
- Air-fry for 4 to 5 minutes at 425 degrees.
- Pan-fried until the bacon is crisp, around 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh dill weed.
