See the recipe suggestions below for toppings. We are lucky to have a produce place here and I bought 8 lbs of fresh plum tomatoes at 88 cents a pound can you believe that? Shocking great price!

Cake Mix Funfetti Chocolate Chip Crinkle Recipe

Sunday, December 13, 2015

I don't think I ever made an easier cookie than these. The versatility of this recipe is endless. Use whatever kind of mix you like with a few more ingredients and you have a full proof perfect cookie. I love this recipe!

1 funfetti cake mix (I used holiday funfetti cake mix)or any flavored cake mix you like, any brand
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chocolate chips and at Christmas mint chocolate chips (or use whatever you like ,chocolate and peanut butter chips are a great combination also)

powdered sugar for rolling them in

Mix the cake mix, eggs, oil, mint chips and vanilla in a bowl, mix until a ball forms. Refrigerate for around 25 minutes.

I use a meatball or melon ball scooper to form balls of dough. Roll into powdered sugar and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet or silpat mat.

Bake at 350 hot oven until the cookies are set around 10 minutes. Cool completely store in air tight container. These also freeze well.

My son Chad brought me home a Panettone pan he ordered online and here is the finished product. I am thrilled on how this came out we make it every year in a metal coffee can but I finally got a pan from Italy to make it in and it looks nothing like the tall coffee can. It came out more like a big loaf of round thick bread and we loved it! The orange zest and almond went together perfectly!

Add the the buttered mixture, the egg yolks, zest,  whole egg, salt vanilla and liqueur you're using into the the yeast and water blending well.

Old Fashion Venison Stew Recipe

Saturday, December 5, 2015
Living in Upstate New York my brother Luke used to go deer hunting all the time when I was little and we would have Venison all different ways usually in stews all winter long. My husband also a hunter got lucky this season brought me home a whole freezer full of deer to cook from what he bagged from his Upstate New York trip this year in Rome New York.

The stew came out better than I expected for my first try at it !

I couldn't tell if it was deer or beef the meat was so tender.

Here's what I did see below

Christmas Pandoro (Golden Cake) Recipe

A yeast egg cake as they refer to it, I think it's a cross between a rich egg bread and kind of cake. This is very traditional among the Venetians and Italians. It's a tall cake you can buy a mold for or use a extra large coffee can to make it. After it cooled it's covered in a sifted powdered sugar or a thick frosting depending on the Region in Italy. They are sold commercially almost everywhere, especially around the holidays as Christmas, New Years and Befana. Not to be confused with Panettone which is an rich egg bread with raisins.

Pandoro is a golden cake made at christmas in Italy dusted with powdered sugar on a plate under the Christmas Tree with poinsettia on the plate
