Natural coloring is always the best way to make healthier Easter Eggs colorful and the results of vibrant and naturally beautiful.

Pretty Crackled Easter eggs are the hit of any party, not just for Easter. Try making these for a Baby reveal party, birthday, and Wedding showers!

Growing up I remember mom always using some kind of juice from berries or vegetables.

Now I have a fabulous list of tried and true ways to color those Easter eggs even with strong colorful tea and natural deep colors of certain spices.

Healthier and safe to eat and even some of the ingredients give the eggs a much nicer holiday themed color for Easter when making deviled eggs or mixing up chopped eggs for egg salad tea sandwich appetizers.

Scroll down to the printable recipe card for dye suggestions.

Old Fashioned Egg Dyes are the best!

This is a vintage old-world tradition that goes back to over 5,000 years when Persians celebrated springtime with eggs colored with plant-based dyes.

There are so many dye-worthy ingredients on the market, I am sure you have had them dye your hands plenty of times, take note of those brilliant colors and use those natural beauties on Easter Eggs.

I have to admit beet juice and blueberry are my two favorites!

I have always loved how to make Crackle Eggs also as shown below.

They especially look awesome made into deviled eggs. Of course, you can make them without using food coloring. Try using beet juice and other natural ingredients to dye them with as well.

Some of the natural dye suggestions in the recipe card need longer steeping than others, it will be trial and error for stronger colors you will need more for instance, 2 tablespoon of paprika for an orange color or more.

All you do is put each natural kind of coloring into boiling water or use the cold method the longer you steep the eggs the stronger the colors some take more than 20 minutes.

Sometimes you have to boil the actual vegetables first to release the colors as I indicated below.

Just boil some eggs and use these suggestions below in the printable recipe card for coloring your eggs naturally.

Ingredients and Suggestions are in the Recipe Card Below for Coloring and Directions

  1. boiling water
  2. natural dye
  3. vinegar

Optional items: Tape, string, rubber bands, cheesecloth squares, natural beeswax crayons to create designs on eggs, and vegetable oil for an extra sheen.
