Slow Cooker Italian Bottom Round Roast Recipe

If you have never tried cooking in a slow cooker, you are missing out on a easy delicious meal. This roast beef cut with a fork. Nothing else to do other than add some herbs, spices and some liquid and you will come home to a fabulous meal. They will think you cooked all day and made gourmet style beef.
We don't have to tell them the truth! You can make any sides your family loves but this goes great with mashed potatoes and corn.

Slow Cooker Italian Bottom Round Roast Recipe

2.5 lb roast
3 cloves of garlic cut in half
Flour to coat roast
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 can or 2 cups fresh green beans or peas
3 potatoes peeled and cut into long wedges
1 can of sliced crinkle carrots or freshly sliced carrots
1 can of Beef Mushroom soup or another kind of beef soup in a can
1 package au jus gravy prepared
1/2 cup Merlot Wine of other red wine (use water or broth if you want to omit wine.)

Cut 6-8 slits in your roast and place half a clove of garlic in each slit and roll the roast into flour.

In a large dutch oven pan place the oil in a skillet.
Brown the roast on both sides.
Add the roast to your slow cooker and add the potatoes and carrots.
Place roast in the slow cooker and add all the vegetables using on top.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper
Pour the soup, au jus and wine on the roast.
Cover and cook on high for4 to 6 hours or low 6 to 8 hours.
