This is a super fast recipe for a creamy sauce with chicken that goes great poured over pasta, rice, potatoes, or even a slice of bread!
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons ap flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste as needed
Instructions
- In a medium frying pan add 2 tablespoons of oil and saute the chicken strips until browned on both sides around 3 minutes then set this aside.
- Note: omit this step if using precooked chicken such as rotisserie, frozen, etc then refer to the package instructions for heating or reheating to add to the sauce.
- In a clean deep 3 quart saucepan, add the butter until it melts on a low heat setting
- Saute the garlic in this pan for 2 minutes.
- Add the flour, whisking this until smooth.
- Stir in the milk slowly and continue whisking until no lump appears.
- Add the chicken broth and simmer until this mixture thickens.
- Sprinkle the cheese into the sauce with granulated garlic powder, season to taste with salt and pepper then fold in the chicken (or whatever you choose into the sauce) just until it's heated.
- Serve over pasta, potatoes, bread, cooked rice, or even as a dipping sauce etc.
