Banana Cake Mix Cake is an easy doctored cake mix.


If you love banana cake and need a quick semi-homemade dessert, this is perfect.


Use up those old dark-colored bananas no one wants to eat and turn them into a decadent delicious cake!


Actually, I have also topped this cake with fresh bananas and a little ice cream caramel topping, it's a really sweet treat!


The cake is semi-homemade, right? It has fresh fruit in it using a cake mix and tastes like a scratch cake!

I love how just a few ingredients transformed a plain ordinary cake mix into a decadent dessert, you just have to try this one!

Toppings and Optional Serving Ideas

  • serve with fresh banana slices, caramel ice cream topping, and whipped cream
  • before baking add butterscotch chips
  • frost with maple frosting and bacon bits
  • add dried pineapple and coconut to the batter
  • after baking dust with powdered sugar and a mixture of cinnamon sugar
  • add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice to the batter
  • use another flavored cake mix and instant pudding-like chocolate and chocolate pudding, spice cake with french vanilla instant pudding, or butterscotch
  • serve the cake with a variety of freshly sliced fruits and whipped cream
  • bake the cake in heart-shaped or character-shaped pans

  • preheat the oven before baking
  • Add coconut, chopped cherries, chocolate chips or chopped candy bars to the batter before baking or sprinkled on top of the frosting
  • keep the cake covered for up to 4 days after cooling
  • Use another flavored cake mix, spice, white, strawberry, pineapple, coconut, and even chocolate
  • Cake can be frozen for up to 3 months
  • This cake is perfect for loaf pans and making ice cream cake (just cool the loaf slice in half fill with your favorite ice cream (we like banana split ice cream) wrap and freeze

The easiest cake in a hurry starts with a mix and is perfect for potlucks, a quick thank you to that neighbor next door, or that unexpected company.


Every time I make this cake someone asks for the recipe, it's light, flavorful, and moist not to mention versatile with toppings and how to serve it.


If you're not a big fan of baking cakes, this is the one to add to your recipe collection especially when you have overripe bananas to use up!

This is an easy doctored cake mix banana cake that is perfect for any quick hosting party, or picnic and even great on game day for a great dessert. The cake is so versatile and can be served plain, with fresh fruits and cream, or frosted! Check out this easy banana cake using just a few ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1 cake mix yellow (15.25 size) or use another flavor you like
  • 1 box instant banana cream pudding or vanilla
  • 3 mashed small bananas
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Optional additions: 2/3 cup of any: coconut, chocolate chips or other flavored chips, chopped nuts of any kind, chopped candy of choice like Reese, Snickers, etc.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare the pan you are using from our suggestions.
  2. Place in a large mixing bowl and beat for around 4 minutes with an electric beater.
  3. Pour the batter into a prepared pan.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350-degree hot oven until the middle comes out clean with a toothpick around 50 to 55 minutes.
  5. Cupcakes around 20 minutes.
  6. 9 x 9 pan around 25 minutes.
  7. Cool completely.

  9. Top with real whipped cream and fresh fruits and refrigerate or use cream cheese frosting.
  10. Dust the cake with powdered sugar after cooling or/and cinnamon sugar mixture
  11. Frost this with a light glaze using powdered sugar and water if it's a bundt cake.

    1. If it's not a thick bundt style yes I would do 35 to 40 just using the toothpick method when the center looks solid and not shakey
