Did you ever just want an all-made from scratch quick bread made with chocolate chips and NO BANANAS? This is it!


This easy loaf is made with simple pantry ingredients and sure to please any chocolate chip lover and cake/bread style loaf.


The quick bread is perfect plain, sliced with a dollop of whipped cream or with a tiny sprinkle of powdered sugar.


I am sure you'll even love this chocolate chip loaf with a scoop of Amaretto Chocolate Chip Ice Cream on top!

Easy Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease a loaf pan and any pan you prefer(IE mini muffins, muffin pan or mini loaf pans
  3. Mix the dry and wet ingredients until blended by hand
  4. Bake, cool enjoy!


The wonderful thing about this recipe besides the smell of this baking is how simple the ingredients are and taste great any time of the day not just a breakfast loaf!


It mixes up quickly and you can actually make mini bundt cakes, muffins, mini loaves or little bites from a mini muffin pan that are perfect for a take along for road trips, work or packed in a lunch for someone special.


This is a great way to teach the kids how to bake, it's that simple to make and hopefully if they do, they won't eat all the chocolate chips before it goes in this delectable batter!


I also love the fact the batter is basic, so you really can add whatever you want in flavored chocolate chips to dried fruits or nuts!


I have had so many banana bread recipes and zucchini bread recipes that it was time to make a basic loaf cake/quick bread with a simple basic recipe like this one.

Chocolate Chip Loaf

Chocolate Chip Loaf

A chocolate chip quick bread with NO BANANA in it!!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter ( 1 stick)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • pinch salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • Optional: add 1/2 cup coconut, walnuts or pecans to the batter

Instructions

  1. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a loaf-style pan.
  2. In a medium-size bowl using an electric mixer cream the butter and sugar together until light.
  3. Stir in the vanilla, egg, milk, and then add all dry ingredients until well blended.
  4. Fold in the chocolate and nuts if using..
  5. Bake in the 350-degree hot oven for around 55 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean in the middle.
  6. Flip onto the wax paper after cooling for 4 minutes let cool completely before cutting.
