Air Fryer Turkey

One of the fastest cooking methods is Air Frying and these Turkey Drumsticks, Wings, Thighs, or Breasts didn't disappoint us, they were juicy tender, and off-the-charts delicious.

Busy schedules still require a delicious meal, and working during the holiday can be very stressful to try and put a quick meal on the table that's traditional, especially for retail and first responders.

These turkey pieces are perfect for on-the-go, working folks on Thanksgiving and will still give that total delicious turkey craving matched up with some taters and gravy and you're going to love the answer for this fast and easy meal.

I have done these also baked or on the stovetop, however, they certainly will take a lot longer than just 25 minutes to get that crispy skin results with juicy tender turkey meat inside.

If you're in a hurry this will be the answer to any weeknight meal all year round for turkey lovers!

Easy Turkey Drumsticks, Thighs, and Wings Air Fried

  1. first mix all the seasoning together with herbs, oil, and butter
  2. heat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 degrees
  3. baste the turkey pieces with the butter mixture and seasonings
  4. oil spray the basket
  5. air fryer for 25 minutes turning once
  6. check the thickest part with an instant-read thermometer to register at 165 degrees to ensure it's done!
  7. Note: the breast will take longer to cook

  • bone-in turkey parts, wings, legs, thighs
  • butter
  • crushed garlic cloves or granulated garlic powder
  • fresh parsley
  • fresh basil
  • olive oil
  • smoked paprika
  • poultry seasoning
  • salt, pepper
  • optional: fresh thyme and rosemary




Tips:


  • use any bone-in turkey parts or chicken can be substituted
  • we have made anywhere between 4 to 8 pieces depending on the sizes of the thighs
  • use an instant-read meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is at 165 degrees internal temperature
  • add more butter or olive oil  if you decide to fry on the stovetop
  • heat the air fryer basket for 5 minutes or the frying pan  before frying the turkey
  • for crispier skin broil the turkey for a few minutes on high
  • turkey takes around 10 minutes per pound so allow again for different thickness and size

Any parts of the turkey you prefer can be air-fried and substituted, or even chicken, the seasoning and flavors are fantastic with any poultry parts just ensure you're using an instant-read thermometer for accuracy and safety measures when it comes to fully being cooked.

Juicy Air Fried turkey drumsticks, wings, or thighs in a fantastic seasoning mix made deliciously crispy and an easy recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh Italian parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 fresh whole basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder or use 2 fresh cloves of smashed or crushed garlic
  • Optional: fresh rosemary or thyme leaves can be added around 1/2 teaspoon each 
  • *2 pounds turkey assorted turkey parts bone-in (if you use the breast you will need to cook those longer to 165 degrees internal temperature)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes before air frying and oil spray the basket.
  2. In a small bowl whisk together all the seasoning ingredients until combined.
  3. Using a silicone brush, slather on the mixture to any turkey parts with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Place the seasoned turkey parts on the oil-sprayed basket air fryer tray.
  5. Air fry for 25 minutes turning once then checking with an instant-read thermometer that it reads 165 degrees in the thickest part.
  6. *Note: Turkey legs, thighs, and bone-in breast parts can be substituted however may need longer cooking periods so it is important to use the instant-read thermometer to ensure those pieces are cooked all the way through for safety reasons that are completely cooked all the way through.
  7. That tool comes in handy for accuracy when cooking any meat and is very useful for thicker pieces that are bone-in.
